@@brainflash1 the gun kills and does as much damage as he needs it to in the moment. That's the thing with the saint. He's as powerful as he needs to be, no more, no less, in any given situation. He's a force of nature, just like god, there's no real logic to it. Just like god without his throne, neither are all powerful though. The source is the only all powerful thing in the series. Which god draws his power from, and that created the saint to deal with gods antics.

As I recall, there are a half dozen or so being the Colt COULDN'T kill. (Lucifer was one of them) The Saint apparently had no such restrictions....EXCEPT if God was on his Throne. The Saint says point blank in the comics that nothing in Creation can touch Him there. Which is why, at the end, the SAINT is the one resting on the throne...jusssst to make sure noone else uses it.
