Never trust a big FC full of strangers: they spam invites and will accept any warm body, their leadership is either full of drama queens who love to stir shit, or they'll soon get overwhelmed and disband/pass off control to someone else, and anything you contribute will only be sucked up for the benefit of a select few. Better to stick to small FCs of 20 people or fewer you can reliably run content with during each patch update, bonus points if they're irl friends.

someone needs to get preach to watch them FFXIV anniversary vids from zanekonpu like savix has shit rocks you hard in the feels. Its all done in-game using filters and the music, emotes etc. Its magical honestly and I think preach would enjoy them alot, it resonates hard with any player of MMORPGS.

Good gear tells you nothing on if someone can play. Had a mage with us in Shadowlands. Best gear in the raid. Managed to out damage at least one of the tanks. Tried to do dungeons with her. Could not avoid pulling shit all the time...

we had a warlock like that , just bought his M+ 10/15 gear with boosts . we ran a +5 to help gear up guld members ...he had no clue what he was doing XD most players would of melted the mobs/bosses .....sigh .....
