Had a group early on in Shadowlands as a Tank. Was a M0 Sanguine. First time on Mythic. Ended up joining a premade group from Goldrinn. The leader actually knew some decent English, so he was switching between the 2 languages. *Super* nice guy. Was explaining things so we were all on the same page, and even was writing some words of encouragement after a wipe. Apologized a bunch too, and I was like "It's all good! First month of the expansion and all that" Spent a extra 30-40 minutes(it at least felt like that..we had to port out and repair) on the second boss, but it honestly felt really good to finish that run. They were really thankful, and I was glad I stuck it out.

I was in the Guild that was featured in "No Guild Like My Own Guild" and it's still one of the most fun guilds that I've ever been in. The GM makes some dumb, selfish calls but honestly it all works out in some strange way. Really fun times with those folks and oddly enough they lasted way longer then BRF even though it should've died ages ago lmao

LMAO at the last story. Quel'Thalas is always an instant kick. In LFR they would raid with aspect of the pack the entire time. They are literally the reason why aspect of the pack was removed from the game. Quel'Thalas hunters are the only hunters in pugs that know how to use MD. But the problem is that they use it on unholy DK's and there is NOTHING you can do to get them to stop getting DK's insta-killed by bosses on pulls.

my 2 cents on the Brazilian players topic, in my heaviest arena days which was like wrath-mists, my partners and I had Goldrin, Ragnaros, and Nemesis in our battlegroup and it would always be a laugh when we saw one of those servers pop up and we'd say something like "FREE WIN!" or whatever...and 90% of the time we beat them!

Brazilians get the majority of the Ragnaros blame because there's a long history of Brazilian kids swarming and destroying free-to-play MMOs. Supposedly this is because there was an initiative to make sure every kid in the country had a computer, so all of a sudden there was a giant wave of kids who had never been on the internet before who were playing whatever games they could run and afford, often absolutely overwhelming whatever community there had been in that game before.

A summary of every experience I (NA player) have had with anyone from the Nemesis server: 1. Nemesis Player joins, never says a word, even when greeted. 2. Nemesis Player is, at best, average at the game. 3. Nemesis Player inevitably does something that causes a wipe. Most times this is an accident. We rarely say anything about it. 4. Nemesis Player quits the group. So we don't invite Nemesis players to our keys.

Lmao so with rag and azralon I always join guild groups. But I won't bring them in as pugs usually. Unfortunately most of them leave immediately if there's a wipe or like 2 people die or if you don't take their favorite route

I'm a brazilian who lives in Paraguay and played on Ragnaros before transfering to Moon Guard since i'll never be taken seriously in the toxic pug world because of my heritage, so i figured at least i'll laugh at the perverts in tradechat while doing queueable content even though i'm perfectly capable of mythic raiding... And btw, yes, most players from those regions suck, but those are the ones you see in the pug world only, south americans who are worth their salt don't waste time pugging. Me? i just can't make the raid times anymore, so i'm either pug or bust sadly...

The Brazilian Demands I played FFXIV at launch for 2.5 years with a DPS from Brazil, he was great, no problem with his ego, spoke English, Portuguese, & German, yes his family ancestry was from Germany, & his late great grandfather was Germany Army, but no one in our raid had zero problems with him, or his ancestry. In the US 80% claim to be of Germany ancestry. 80% also claim Irish ancestry too.

NA being shit at raiding is only a recent development. Having personal experience with LFD in Rag server groups they just do strange things. I remember on instance I was in a random dung during Cata with a Rag group and I got booted for no reason. I don't know the reason as they were speaking Portuguese. Everything was going ok other than I was doing like 45 - 50% of the damage but I didn't care I was just bored and wanted to run some dungeons and maybe help some people, then booted.

To be honest the solution is to just not play in a Latin American server, I just play in US servers and nobody even notices where I'm from, I'm able to raid normally and do the occasional pug here and there, no problem :)

Standard brazilian to an english person talking is to go stand in a mechanic and wipe the group. Its not about them not understanding others its about them being fully unable to read the dung guide. When 99% of the people from your realm cant do simple stuff like say....move out of haywire in DoS then yea I dont want to play with anyone from your server. edit: I used to know the guilds from rag and bart that were good and could play. Thats how bad the servers were, that the 4 guilds that could do a +10 I knew by name.

We Ragnaros players get so much undeserved hate... We may have a bigger % of bad players than other servers, but we are not all bad (or at least some of us know our limitations). I always make an effort to communicate -even if my grammar is shaky-, I try to be cordial and I follow the tank indications. When we run keys with our group sometimes we pug 1 or 2 DPS: always greet them, summon them, we never flame and we don't ask for KSM for a +11 key like so many NA pugs. I get dumping on Rag players is kind of a running joke, but its tiring to be the butt of the joke all the time. If this wasn't just a game, I'll say it's a bit racist. So, don't hate on all LA players. At least check our .IO

As someone who has lived AotC/KSM pug life for 2 seasons, it's just not worth it to inv anyone from the SA servers, they don't speak when they're asked questions, their routes are subpar and don't mesh well with widely accepted NA routes, they don't communicate anything, it's the worst experience ever. This is a communal problem, but it's amplified when playing with the SA servers, their dps are underwhelming at best and never CC, their healers are saving CD's for next dungeon and never dps, and their tanks never kite. I've encountered some good players from the SA servers but it's less than 1%. I may have bad ping when playing with OCE, but at least they can communicate, and even if they're bad, they're usually funny so it's cool.

It feels like when you get a good player from a SA server they're really really good, but without something like a really high r-io score to sort the good from the bad it's not worth the gamble because the ones that aren't really really good are really really bad.

Wonder if Regans seemingly sudden anger flareup over that prot pally was in any way related to her transition. My GF has a MTF transgender in her FFXIV friendgroup who frequently either takes or gives some small offense and it becomes a huge deal for a while, only for things to eventually go back to normal. Each time their confidence in themselves seems to take a blow.

You're probably right tbh. I have a very close friend who is trans MTF. She can be a hassle to deal with randomly sometimes and can get set off on things she'd normally be cool with completely out of the blue. She's a ton of fun to hang out with and one of the most loveable people I've ever met but I do often wonder how transitioning effects her mood and judgement some days.

I wonder if the Brazilian hatred (of playing with Brazilians, I don't think anyone or at least most don't actually hate Brazilians at all) is more prevalent on the East Coast? Here in California I've only encountered a few Brazilians over the years, and most I'm still friends with and they're all very nice. Although they do speak English and every single one of them talks about how they hate playing with other Brazilians, so I dunno. I've played many games with these folks and they're always great fun. One is always a super hardcore crafter in any MMO we touch. Dude had maxed out all FFXIV crafters so quick it was ridiculous. Actually injured his hand from crafting for so many hours. Man is a beast. I figure since major population centers in Brazil more or less line up with East Coast/maybe Midwest, that would explain why we see so few on the West Coast, but I could be wrong. Would love to hear more.

The inability to speak English is probably the big thing. A lot of players will be bad, but if you can communicate you can at least make sure that the bad players don't do anything stupid. You can't do that with people you can't communicate with so they will do stupid annoying things and you can't tell them not to. I think the reason it happens to be Brazilians is that they are mostly the only non-English speakers that end up on American servers. I've heard that European players think of Russians the same way.

Had a guildie from Ragnaros named Tatooka that transferred off-server during mythic BoD. He played enhance and shredded DPS on every fight, he was a total badass and should be a reminder that not all, but most players from rag/az/quel are bad.

I've done far too much mythic+ in shadowlands, probably close to 300 keys now. I can safely say any Brazilian in the group finder doing 2's-17's are complete trash cans by a very very large margain. There are unicorn BRs pushing 19s and 20s that are gamers and deserve a chance. Push week, ill give them a chance if they've got high IO, alt keys, not a chance son, not a fucking chance, they will butt pull the entire dungeon with their underpants on their heads doing less damage than the tank and never pressing their interrupt

If our ping were below 180 we'd be a lot better, the problem is that the brazilian server is located in the US and mix it with poor internet connection and you get shit runs. I moved to Dalaran since we get a lot of shit as a new player just for being in a brazilian server, I struggled a lot getting into pugs in legion (when I started). After moving to an NA server I got invited to a lot of groups with utterly crap NA claiming to be the best so even though we have our server's issues, most of the time we get shitted on is purely just xenophobia and fewer times straight out racism (being called monkeys and so on)

@@Lilianster I know ping pretty well, it plays a factor, but I was in Adept for Wrath and Cata, and most of the guild was from Australia, playing on 250-300 ping, 140'ish with lowerping services. They were top 5 US for the guild's lifespan. While it has an effect, it doesn't define your gameplay as large of a margin as people try to use as an excuse NA players also get called monkeys if they play poorly. But I would say 10% of BR players are good, 20% are average, 70% are bad. NA would be more like 20% good, 35% average, 45% bad

I don't usually mind if someone isn't very good, and I won't mind if it was someone from Ragnaros. The bigger issue is that they always seem to be on autopilot bad. If you try to communicate at all, they're just silent. They haven't even google translated "don't speak english, speak X", which would at least give me the opportunity to write some simple things back. And then they'll just pull or attack whatever, and move on like a bot. That is what gets me.
