in most cases especially mythic + the 8000 dps killing priority target faster is much more usefull than the 10,000 dps doing dps spread out over alot of trash evenly, dps meters are mostly a bane when used by inexperienced players as it teaches them to go for large amounts of even trash damage instead of learning how to prioritize damage correctly

Just letting you know that as a player in power during a raid you can easily save yourself a lot of drama. We had a mage who on aggramar on heroic cried "Guys walk away from me with the debuff" And whenever he did someone died because they didn't have a ice shield. Looking at the logs we saw he blinked into them everytime because he has to move out of circles. For whatever reason he felt it was others fault and he was salty and ruined the mood of the other players because they was not at fault using the logs I just pointed straight at the replay for the 3 attempts and said "look here, here and here, you actually killed them not the otherway around be more aware with your blinks."

I've watched all your videos and they are fantastic, sharing with the guild and friends! One question I have is practising, you talk about how training dummies are useless, current content such as heroics are so easy headbutting your keyboard completes them yet some players are too intimidate by mythic or not at the stage that they could get into a decent non trade chat raiding guild. Should a player looking to improve hit up say LFR more using it as a tool to improve with utilising logs etc, even running it more then the weekly requirement. Or is it like you said in tanking you are going to get kicked while leaning and players should just do the higher end content like mythic+ dungeons and learn as they go? Even going as far as to join a trade chat guild using it primarily for a way to regularly practice normal/heroic raiding, not abusing them but using them and jumping as you improve.
@FatMan25396 жыл бұрын
I can imagine that people will do the same with this video as they did with the simming video and be like "nah m8, this shit is well confusing, don't wanna do that tho m8, going to websites and that". I might chose to start logging my fights - just like after the simming video i started simming myself - but PUG raids where wipes are common (High Command, Kin'garoth, and Coven are the big 3 barriers in OC)... not really the best place to log.
@Zutraxi6 жыл бұрын
If you are the raid leader or have the power to get people kicked it is absoloutely valuable, kicking the right players and boosting the morale of the group by telling them you got rid of the "filth" that actually played the fight terribly.

The use of the replay function there is somewhat unnecessary. Instead you can actually click and drag to select a portion of the timeline to see the damage done to the add in that window of time, so if you wanted to ignore the burst padding at the end then just select the whole bar except that part, done.
@MrOPD6 жыл бұрын
Using replays for anything but movement is waste of time in general - but I suppose it's easier to explain things with the replay instead of having people click through 10 menus to get the desired information.

another point of your ranking, the raids damage was 99% overall. most high rankings are a result of the overall raid damage which is, in a sense, out of the way of an individual
@Zutraxi6 жыл бұрын
That is true, but simply saying "I ranked 70% on this boss please people help me out here", is not productive and even at 70% there is something going on, ofc. it depends on the fight but if you press the compare button and see that you are at the top of damage for the amount of people/time you used, then yes you can start to look at the overall raid team. Unless you are the raid leader, then by all means analyze the raid.

Only sad thing is that with so many difficulties and different lockouts and titanforging and AP logs became less and less relevant for the average player from a "DPS comparison" point of view. Remember when you could only only kill a boss once a week in any difficulty? Yeah that meant if you were a heroic raider you'd mostly run against other heroic raiders, especially later down the tier. Now it's sad how mythic raiders and boosters make up the majority of the top on any difficulty. And yeah even comparing to ilvl doesn't help that much :(

I got declined for an Argus Heroic Pug since I "only average 85%". I am a-ok at 85% considering the circumstances, i.e. the stuff randoms do: - BL on start - all melee go portal on Hazabel (why do pug leaders always do this?) - having to take over pods on High Command cause people are braindead - taking warlock portals on Immonar transition - ... I mostly use logs to see if I improved and to send the most horrific wipefests to friends for giggles.

@soshspotgames43806 жыл бұрын
your character will not show up on logs unless you specifically log it during the fight, or the group your running with does it during the fight. To ensure a log you started is working properly, after you've started a new combat log, run a quick lfr, then check after to see if you can find your characters log. All characters in the game don't just automatically get logged.
@Zutraxi6 жыл бұрын
Thinking the person here didn't log themselves. Also people might be logging it to private or unlisted at which point public searches won't be able to reach it. However you should still be able to see some sort of ranking on the class page after a click to the update button but no logs will be linked.
@phinix4736 жыл бұрын
+Hannah Eli Edgin +Zutraxi i know what logs are, have made many of them myself in the past, both on warcraftlogs and worldoflogs and i know that some might be either unlisted or privated, just reacted to the novelty of one of my characters not actually being in any public logs, though now that i think about it, it might just be because neither site applies logs under the old name to the new one after you change character name and race/faction changes, or a combo of the aforementioned reasons, who knows.

My advice to get into mythic guild be top dps or you will be kicked faster then you can look, I was missing gear at the start of antorus and searched for a new guild ( I had pieces from ToS some Mythic some heroic tf) I got invited in to about 10 guilds an no guild kept me the reasoning behind that "my lack of damage" in a raid tier full of people with bis stuff and bs, I said its the gear (Trinkets, Tier bonusus I had logs around 50 % (blue ones) so they just tell you that you are shit, now its 2 weeks later and I have got better gear and guess who got high purp logs and gold ones ? Looking for a mythic guild has gotten pathetic tbh. Im not hating on the game, I just dislike the "oh lets get a trail for an extra loot chance which can be redestributed to someone else so we can kick that person after hc/myth farm " mindset TL;DR : Heroic: Do deeps shit on mechanics for logs. Do mechanics in the mythic raids ( but be dps greedy aswell ) Everything thanks to logs, rng, tf, ml, lc

@potentiallyRealWarrenGraham6 жыл бұрын
Preach repeats multiple times that this isnt supposed to only be for the "highest competitive end" of the game, but for people who generally want to be good. Look, if I want to be good at Dark Souls, I copy the meta build of the month from reddit and then learn how to play the game by playing the game. Not uploading text files to random websites and simulating my damage on another random website for multiple thousands of times. Getting good at wow has gotten way out of hand. We have too much information, so much information in fact that the devs have to actively implement unfun instant kills all over the place because conventionally difficult mechanics are no longer challenging enough. Mythic ToS being a giant clusterfuck of "why am i even playing this" followed by a "this is actually fun" Antorrus where people complained that it's "too easy" is testament enough. Ban logs. Ban sims. Ban advantage giving addons. Then we have an actual game on our hands again.
