Predator 224 gets billet parts and ratio rockers
Installed an ARC billet rod in the Predator 224 powered Coleman CT200U mini bike along with some 1.2 ratio rocker arms and a set of NR racing chrome-moly pushrods. Also did a gear change from a 5 to 1 ratio to a 6 to 1 ratio.

Please be careful these engines can produce alot of power for a young kid and with no governor the con rod or stock flywheel can brake and become dangerous im all for teaching little kids how to build engines but keep in mind they can get a grown man moving 60mph with a kid half the weight they will go even faster

What ppl aren’t talking about is that the intake and exhaust runners are bigger than the original predator 212 and hemi engine. I bought both the 224cc and the hemi today to do a Frankenstein build but in the process found that the ports where bigger on the 224cc, so I left that alone. They will also appreciate that the factory muffler is bigger than the other 212 predator engines.

Ya, you have to oblong the holes in the header to make it fit. The head-on the 224 needs some work. It would be better with 5MM valve stems and automotive-style retainers. I want to try my Tillotson head on the 224

my personal rule for rotating parts is if there is a need for clearance, use hand tools(atleast finish with). At the rate of speed the rotary tool removes materal and the shape the cut makes me uneasy about future points of fractures. Using a file to square up the clearance surface of the rotating part may save future headache, add a nice finish with a peace of mind. Parts aren't cheap, so i usually do my best to clean edges and save meat so i dont always build, break, repeat .
@Black66

I appreciate your personal rule. My personal rule is to clearance it and let it rip! I've been trying to "blow up" an engine on this channel for the better part of a year now . No such luck. I think it would make a great video. I have even started mounting cameras down on the frame to catch the carnage. If it doesn't happen soon I will be re-installing the stock internals to artificially make it happen. I need that video...lol

N02 XD, theres the small 16 gram canister kits that tap right in the filter/intake on amazon/ebay. Personally i never added multiple kits to one engine though. Ive wondered, could 2 kits blow up a small motor? If not ,that would be a cool little trick to have a 2 stage nitro kit on a bike or kart. Additionally ive been looking at these 179cc engines by a company called LCT being $49.95 per engine, they seem like a another steal of a deal like when there was the 99$ coupon for a 212s. Anyways keep up the good content and may the motor destroy itself under its own power so we may see that sweet carnage video.

My dynocams CL2 won't fit in the 224. The journal on the cam that goes into the flywheel side cover is too large. Or the side cover receptacle in is too small. I have two of these Cl2's and neither will fit. I have not mic'd them but I would say there is about a 32nd visible difference. As I said I did not mic them but I was a machinist in the Navy post 911 and I have been a journeyman plumber for 16+ yrs. I plan on contacting Dynocams.

How about a better clutch and add a tooth on the clutch sprocket to pick up 0-30 and top speed
@Black66
@Black66 2 жыл бұрын
Every tooth you add to the clutch is equivalent to subtracting 6 teeth from the rear sprocket. It would slow it down from zero to thirty. If you watch the entire series I already ran a 50 tooth rear sprocket. It was too much gear for the engine to pull because the engine didn't have enough torque to overcome the tall tires and gain enough RPM to get into the power band of the cam. Check out the series. kzbin.info/www/bejne/panLo6KQn6uVZ6M
