Fishing was super, we stopped fishing for the pike after 11am as ray wanted to try for some perch, everything seemed to be really active, this time of year is really exciting on the lake. ☺️ Them wildhunter sniper rods suit trolling the large swimbaits really good.

Fair play perch go in sholes usually lakes actually canals to great job lads beautiful tout like a gold colour on the girls water temperature be up now I think miserable temperatures for this time of year but well we live in Ireland

Thanks Adam, water temperature is low for august, only 17degrees so absolute fine to lure fish. 👍

Thanks Andy! Perch are very popular to eat across Europe and America, I done some research on them, a 30-40cm perch could be 15-20 years old they are very slow growers, I’d sooner put them back in the water but I guess it’s easier to do as I don’t eat fish. ☺️🎣 them catch and cook videos do well on KZbin.

Is there any good spots in Lough derg to fish from shore, tried it a few times got nothing seems that you have to go out on a boat. Thanks

Yes you will catch them from the shoreline around any of the harbours, but them areas get overfished, so it makes it much more difficult to find the fish!
