The day that the actress arrived on set for the season 3 finale, the show runner changed up the script and killed her off last minute. He also killed Axel and Oscar way to early. Merle's death was nice but these 3 characters should have been killed off in the prison massacre. It would have made it a lot more engaging like in the comic. Also fuck Gimple lol

Fergus the character The show andrea was destroyed from the beginning. The comic book Andrea was the best and the show disgraced her character. But as to why andrea didn't kill him when he was sleeping, I kind of understand, she wasn't defending herself, it was would be cold blooded murder since he was sleeping. But yeah it was dumb when she didn't just shove Milton out of the way when he showed her the torture room made for Michonne. Hell she should have left with Michonne after everything she did for her, I mean they clearly knew each other far more than Andrea knew Rick's group since it was said 8 months had past since Lori was big and about to give birth the beginning of season 3 ,yet Andrea just turned her back on her. I like Laurie Holden and it wasn't about how she played Andrea, it's about how the screenwriters and showrunners wished to portray andrea and it wasn't a good portrayal unfortunately unlike in the comic books she is my favorite.

His first step would be to kill all of Alexandria and that would be it for Rick. He would be dead as FUCK.

Simon will be in the leaders position, and all he has to do is even inspire just a quarter of the saviors to go destroy Alexandria, and the job will be done. Since the Saviors numbers are so ridiculously high. Remember, as of Episode 8 of Season 7, Rick only knows of Hilltop, not Kingdom, Scavengers or Oceanside. So it’s really only him at this point. He only started the Militia because of his eagerness to go to every group and try to inspire all of them to come together. Killing Negan after Spencer died would’ve been the end of Alexandria. So I guess it’s a good thing Rosita is so shit as shooting people up close. Lol

I agree with all of your choices. I'd like to add another.....When Maggie started having stomach pain, WHY did damn near everyone from Alexandria have to pile in the RV to take her to Hilltop?? Sasha, Abraham, Carl, Eugene, Aaron and Rick. Carol had run away and Morgan went after her (omigod stop). And Darryl, Michonne, Rosita and Glenn had be taken, leaving Alexandria virtually empty. What bothered me more is that they saviours somehow had knowledge of all of this, thus they could execute their extremely well thought out plan to trap them (involving not only between 50-100 men, but multiple vehicles in multiple locations, barriers made of walkers, and massive log roadblocks. Oh, and a last surviving member of a previously non cooperative group to provide an example of what was to come) All of this would have required foreknowledge not only of the intended destination, but also the knowledge that they had to reach said destination at all costs. Realistically the saviours would have just gone en masse to Alexandria to make their point, only, as you pointed out, to have found it completely deserted of any main characters, having probably missed the group on the road. But no. Every route had a group waiting. I could have bought it if the saviours had made their way to Alexandria in smaller groups, on different roads, so as to stop anyone they meet on the way, but to have groups JUST WAITING didn't make sense at all lol

I'm not exactly certain, but didn't dwith say that Eugene figured a way to distract the horde away? By opening up that hole, it didn't exactly let the saviors out since they still had a whole horde to stop them from running. And honestly, many saviors were eaten or bit on-screen, it also did put more pressure upon them, especcially the workers who weren't as easily controlled since they were under the "what's your name - negan" spell, they did almost start to riot before negan showed up with Gabriel. It was a reasonable plan, leaving them be was also a risk, they did almost turn the horde with that huge music track, and leaving them be meant to rely upon that they'd give up after seeing the numbers of trash people, who did nearly kill rick.. again. Either way was very risky and could have gone wrong.

I agree, that her character was not written well, but she had the potential to become a real badass, and the character was just beginning to have more depth when they put a bullet through her head! After Beth, Glenn and Abraham, and Carl, (all characters I really liked), I’ve pretty much written the show off. Sophia wasn't injured and there were Walkers chasing her and Rick. Rick had only awoken from his coma just a week or so before. His inexperience was part of that. It's sad how he was the most anticipated character for a long, long time, and then audience goodwill toward him completely evaporated when he turned out to be annoying. Also also, Morgan suffers from almost every one of my least favourite TWD cliches: he's a pacifist, who will sabotage his own people to prevent killing. It would have been way better if Negan had attacked Alexandria and destroyed it, leading walkers into it and having buildings burn and ruin. In this, Carl goes to grab Judith, however because he does not have enough time to cover him and his sister in guts, he’s bitten somewhere (neck, arm, leg, favourably somewhere that can’t be amputated) and he pushes on to protect Judith. He manages to escort Judith to safety, reveals his bite to that he reaches (I’d rather Rick and Michonne because they’re family, but maybe someone who could use a more emotional scene like Rosita, Aaron, Tara, Gabriel, Maggie (I know that half these characters weren’t at Alexandria)) Then most of the group reconnects, say their last goodbye to Carl and he’s put down. In the episode. Not a cliffhanger. The S8 mid-season finale wasn’t even a cliffhanger. It was an inch-hanger

Not only does she have to deal with this baby, but she has to worry about Shane, if the baby is Shane’s, protecting carl, trying to stay on the farm, etc. What was nice was seeing her guilt catch up to her and she finally decides to talk to Shane about her baby. I love that scene. Because right before it, Shane and Rick make peace. But now, Lori tries to the right thing and apologizes to Shane for what she put him through, but this only inspires Shane to try to kill Rick. And people really did not understand why Lori was mad when Rick confessed he killed Shane. She was shocked, but only mad when Rick told her Carl was there and shot Zombie Shane. THAT is what made her mad but nobody gave a fuck.

She said herself no matter what, the baby is Rick's. So the question of who the real father was shouldn't of been an issue. And the reason Lori was mad at Rick is up for interpretation. The fact when Rick tried to move closer to her to comfort her she kept backing away like he was some kind of monster made me feel otherwise, but yes that could also be another reason for her anger. The finale when Rick does his no democracy speech shows a shot of Lori looking at Rick as if she has no idea who he is anymore, because he has changed which is great. I'll admit after more and more rewatchings I don't hate Lori as much as I used to, but certain actions of hers will always make her be one of my least favourite original season characters.

Carl's had a couple of close run ins with Walkers & death throughout the show though. The Walker he toyed with back in Season 2 that eventually killed Dale & when the prison fell in Season 4 and Rick was unconscious he nearly got killed twice in the street with 3 Walkers then in the house with one that got his shoe. Also getting shot by Otis & having his eye shot out by Ron. Your luck runs out eventually. Walkers are still a threat to anybody if you get outnumbered or lose concentration for a second and I like how they went back to that. We've had a long string of deaths that haven't come from Walkers but instead from humans. I don't want characters to be invincible to their surroundings. I also don't want every main or big character to go out with a massive or memorable death. Sometimes a simple Walker bite is enough, after all it's a zombie apocalypse.

My major issue with TWD, is that they have very inconsistent situational awareness. One minute they are moving tactically and smart, the next minute they are lackadaisically strolling around in open territory, then predictably something bad happens. There are many many instances where they're depicted just standing out in the open giving speeches like they completely forgot that the are literally thousands of zombies walking around and other groups of ppl out there looking to rob, kill, or enslave them. This is like going out on safari and literally forgetting you have lions a few hundred yards away and decide to go out there and have a picnic. Then they act all surprised when someone gets shot by an arrow or chowed down on by a walking corpse. If you went to the zoo and decided to give a speech from inside the lions' enclosure then ppl around you would obviously think you are completely insane, until you are quite predictably getting mauled to death.

We saw Glenn fall, the music got somber, it went in slow motion, you see glenn scream as internal organs are being pulled up (presumably from his chest) as they fade to black and they had a fake 'in memorial' segment for him on talking dead directly afterwards. they played that moment up heavily KNOWING Glenn wasn't dead. His survival defeats all story logic thus far. Rick wasn't safe hiding under a tank in season 1 but Glenn can hide out an entire horde just clutching his knees under a dumpster? Why would walkers NOT attack the screaming face laying directly in front of them but continue clawing at the lifeless body? The more I think about it the angrier I get. A show with so much promise turned into a shallow spectacle.

But Carl I kept hoping would die because he was making such stupid moves. These characters wander off on their own, usually without telling anyone or maybe someone will decide to go with them but again, without telling anyone. Twice Henry left The Kingdom to follow Carol, despite her telling him not to. Could no-one take responsibility for looking after that child? And Judith. That poor kid was being carried everywhere like a lapdog, at least when she was a baby. For goodness sake, let the poor kid sleep. PUT IT DOWN.

Honestly, I think what we're supposed to take away from Beth's death (rhyming) is that during her stint in the hospital, she developed a higher understanding of the illusion of power and control through bullying and intimidation. The driving force of every character in the show is fear, with the differences lying in how they let it affect them and how they choose to use it. Moreover, the show makes a point of preying on innocent characters like Beth and Noah. By provoking Dawn, knowing that she will die and take Dawn with her, Beth broke the cycle and defeated a tyrant, freeing the others and allowing them to choose their fates. Mind you, we will never get the see the full scope of her sacrifice, as we never see those people again, but it is implied that change was on the horizon. Yes, her death can be seen as unnecessary, but she sought to prove that Dawn, for all of her steely disposition, was very human underneath, that she could be broken just like anyone else, and that she was not the savior of those people.

To the people who don’t understand Beth’s death- She knew what she was doing and that she would probably die. If Beth didn’t kill Dawn, the people in the hospital would never be free. Dawn took in people she saw as weak, and made them subservient. That is why when she realized Beth’s strength, she said she would let her go, but demanded that Noah come back. Beth realized that Dawn, too, would have never truly let her go and would continue abusing these people who needed her help, so she killed her. She killed Dawn because in her mind, when everyone she loved died, she had no power to stop it. But, this situation was in her hands. Her character tee, who was seen as so weak, went out by taking down a dictator.

I haven't seen anyone mention the theory that Beth didn't attack Dawn spontaneously and for no reason but because Dawn had her gun pulled and was obviously about to turn on Rick's side after she safely lured Noah out of the way. When Noah walks towards Dawn and Beth runs up and hugs him Dawn has no gun in her hand. Then Beth moves in front of Dawn and says I get it before she stabs Dawn and all of a sudden Dawn's gun goes off. Dawn pulled her gun when Beth was standing in front of her, blocking Rick's view and she put her hand/arm and the gun kind of across her chest using Beth's body to block the view from Rick's side. But Beth saw this and stabbed her, then the gun goes off. The time it would take for Dawn to (instinctively) pull her gun from the holster and aim it upwards to shot Beth in the head is too long for the timing in the episode which is why I believe the gun was already in that position when she pulled the trigger after being stabbed. So Beth didn't stab her for no reason but because Dawn was about to fire on Rick and his people. Still kinda sucky way to go just before she's finally reunited with her sister after her dad died.

Releasing the walkers from the quarry is definitely #1 for me. You left out 2 important ones. 1. Abandoning the prison. It was overrun...so what? They cleared it out when it was overrun before, and they were way better at doing that kind of thing now. That place was a fortress and perfect to withstand a horde. 2. Travelling halfway up the east coast so they could "honor Beth's wishes" or whatever to get Noah home. They didn't even know Noah. He's free now. He's on his own.

Beth's death, believe it or not, was the dumbest decision of the TWD story line up to Season 8. Most specifically it was a huge missed opportunity. Though she started out as a minor and vulnerable character, she grew in importance and involvement in the plot. Sasha didn't have any chance of killing Negan in that cell. The position of the knife, Sasha, and Negan in that scene would have made it impossible for her to stab him. Now for those who don't understand basic melee combat in RL let me point out all the reasons why there wasn't even the slightest chance in hell that Sasha would have been able to even nick Negan. Negan places the blade with the only sharp side pointed towards Sasha and the handle on the side closest to him with the point away. He stands up over her and gives his speech staying well out of arms reach of Sasha. When he stands over her most the time the bat is held over his shoulder in a position that he could easily use to swing down and hit her on a moments notice. When he does squat down to talk to her he holds the bat in front of him with both hands almost directly over the knife's position. Had she reached for the knife while he was standing over her, Negan just makes a swift motion with his arm holding the bat over his shoulder down on her and she's done. Had she gone for it when he was squating next to her there are several options as he could have just slam the bat down on her hands which he was holding over the knife, he could have brought his right hand up still holding the bat and socked her with the side of it. Even if by some tiny chance she manages to her her hand on the knight it is still pointed away from Negan with the wrong side so even trying to lash out swinging away from her body would have the dull side of the knife going towards Negan and would require move room to maneuver then she had. Yes she was on a suicide mission but that was when she thought she could rush in and catch Negan by surprise to kill him. She thought she had good odds, here she was smart enough to realize she didn't have a chance. Also she thought she could get a weapon for Ugene as you can see her disappoint when he gives her a pill, she had hopped to catch him off guard and kill him. But when things came down she just figured she'd kill herself so she couldn't be used as a bargaining chip, I don't think she planned to kill Negan just to sabotage his plan however she could.

By not taking the chance when she had it, regardless of whether she would succeed or fail, Sasha went against everything her character desired and stood for at the time -- revenge for Abraham, protecting her people -- and the whole reason why she went to the Sanctuary in the first place. In my opinion it’s not always a testament of bad writing when characters make dumb decisions. Good flaws make good characters, as such it’s natural they make mistakes even ones that so asininely defy logic and common sense. So long as consistency remains and it makes sense of why that character would make certain stupid choices. There’s really nothing objectively wrong with it.

I 100% agree with you Predatoure, I really don't know what goes through their heads when they write these episodes. Daryl was hands down my favourite in the first few seasons, then he got boring and then he just became downright stupid. Surely the show runners must be aware of the backlash the show has received from fans/viewers. It doesn't seem that way though cause they just keep on making stupid decisions and completely derailing our favourite characters. I never thought I would stop watching TWD but I got part way through this season and just completely lost interest. I really thought they could only go up from what was the atrocity of season 7 but it seems I was wrong.

Okay so, genuinely curious. Why do so many people ask things like 'what did Daryl think he'd achieve by punching Negan?' I mean I thought it seemed pretty clear he *wasn't* thinking. Yeah Daryl has chilled out a lot from the early seasons but he's still been shown acting on impulse at times when he's in a stressful situation or just really upset/pissed off. Sure punching Negan wasn't a bright idea, something even he probably realised five seconds after he did it. No one can actually say they haven't done something they've regretted later when emotions were running high.
