I don’t get SoFi fully. As a Norwegian CFO I haven’t seen a physical bank in years. All banking activities are digitalized since at least a decade. Isn’t that the case for the US?

They don’t have so many big online banks around here but some are them are huge. I use Capital One but a lot of people especially old, don’t trust them very much yet

Every bank has a big online presence, but they still build branches. SoFi is one of the only ones with no physical infrastructure.

Most established banks are operating off of a legacy mainframe system. These banks are much slower to innovate with new products like only banks can. SoFi’s edge is that they can bring these major banks onto “ONE” digital core. Their technology stack is best in class. Check out their MESH payment deal and you will see that their vision of becoming the AWS of fintech is just getting started.
