I was really moved by the concept of being an adult means that you have to learn to give yourself permission, and not wait for someone else to. Life is inherently messy, and it can be difficult to come to terms with let alone embrace, but even just acknowledging the feelings you’re experiencing is a big step.

To everyone questioning the no period for 6 months….I’ve had years of no period when my hormones were out of whack due to a prolactin producing pituitary tumor. After I got it under control and finally got my period back, got pregnant two months later and haven’t had one since (2+ years later) because of breastfeeding. Not everyone who is capable of getting pregnant has regular periods!!!

Yes, and Abby is super fit which can stop periods and so it doesn't surprise me that as an athlete she doesn't consider it abnormal. When I was dancing ballet and I lived in the gym and in the studio, I didn't have a period or not a consistent one and that was normal for me at the time. My doctor told me that I should try to be less fit lol. So the period thing with Abby doesn't surprise me at all, and there are so many reasons periods can be out of whack.

Congratulations. I have three children and I love labor and delivery. I did have natural births and while it is INTENSE, it is a feeling like I can’t describe. When it is over, it feels like you are superwoman. It makes me sad to think that I will probably not experience it again. My biggest advice is to learn to relax everything - your forehead to your toes. Breathe through it and instead of fighting contractions because you sense pain, let them come like waves and know that the sensation is progress and getting you that much closer to seeing baby.

Dude you are a super person, pregnancy and labor all sound traumatic honestly!! Idk if it’s because when I was young someone described labor as “kinda like the scene from Alien”, but I find it all terrifying!!

Agreed! “I will breathe my baby down” and “open, soften, release” were the affirmations I kept repeating and they helped tremendously! Do NOT fight the contractions. Even though it’s a new feeling to you, your body is doing its job. 🤍

Thank you for normalizing missing periods as not being total red flags. I've been on the pill (and still am) and have taken pregnancy tests every month for the last few years because my periods are "late". Because I've been taking them for years I wouldn't think anything different any time a negative one came across. I think this is worth sharing and I this helps others.

I have been so touched watching you taking this whole thing on. This baby is so lucky to have you as its mother. I remember when I was pregnant with my first I had the same insecurities crop up. I then heard someone say that, “no one else is better fit to be your baby’s mom than you, that baby has been sent to you for a reason.” Motherhood is one of the hardest things you’ll ever do, but it’s the most rewarding experience and I wouldn’t trade it for the world.

I really enjoyed your reel about woman being the original body builders by actually growing a human because growing a human, takes a lot, they absorb all your nutrients, mess with your bowel movements as you were saying. You’re doing great. Every woman is different when growing a baby and every birth story is different. Ive been enjoying seeing your routines through pregnancy because I am 36 weeks, due end of august, looking to strengthen my pelvic floor for Birth. I’m more focused on the unmedicated side of it because I’ve known my pregnancy since the first month and been studying and mentally preparing myself almost like you have been doing but you’re such a gem with your physical training. Thank you for sharing this experience. I admire your excitement. May you continue to soak in this moment in your life!

I am so excited for you Abby!!! I have been following your journey since before we knew you were even expecting! I just found out last week that I am pregnant too (about a month and a half along) and I was intrigued by what you said about how you’ve been “training for this labor and delivery like an athlete”! I come from an athletic background, and I love working out, I want to continue working out hard throughout my pregnancy, but many people around me are telling me that hard exercise isn’t good for the baby or me. I would love if you could do a video and talk more about how you have been “training” these past 8 months, and also maybe address some of the stigma that there is around pregnant women working out. Thank you so much! I love your videos! God bless 💕

I am so happy for you! I am someone who has also had irregular, painful periods all of my fertile life (not athletic as a teen, just family history of irregular cycles and working on a PCOS diagnosis), and I have watched your approach to fitness for a few years now. I think you have a wonderful mindset regarding pregnancy, labor, and delivery (probiotics, fitness, et cetera) that I hope to emulate in my time. Not sure what your approach will be once Baby arrives, but I hope to hear more about this journey :)

Being educated and “training for birth” will surely pay off! I looked at it the same way and absolutely loved labor and delivery and felt so empowered after giving birth. Even with my first birth, in a hospital, where it felt to me like they did everything in their power to try to discourage me from having a natural birth, giving birth was an awesome experience- I had to really stuck up for myself to have it though. Education is absolutely key. After that I switched to midwives and had two home births, and then my last baby was born in a freestanding birth center.

I am so proud of you for standing up for yourself and having that birth the way you wanted. I had the same battle. I had my first baby at home because of all the negativity they threw at me at the hospital. Had my second baby in a hospital, because my husband was in Iraq and they put drugs in my IV without telling me after giving birth. I had HORRIFIC depression after my second. Thank you for standing up for yourself.

I’ve been following you for years now and your always someone I can watch for educational purposes or just need a fun laugh and I’m so excited that your feeling amazing with your little baby. It’s crazy how many people hint hint law makers don’t realize how irregular periods can be and not even the majority of every child, teen or women knows what’s a normal period is etc especially if they’ve been placed on hormonal birth control for years. We need education in our school systems and no cost for period products or pregnancy test and of course GETTING OUR RIGHTS BACK ON OUR BODIES. So we can help moms make the choice if they even want to be moms

I love this video! I love your stance on labour and delivery! I was similar with my babies and most people I told including health professionals just rolled their eyes and said as long as you have a healthy baby it doesn’t matter. But it does. I’m so glad I educated myself because my first baby was spontaneous labour at 34+6 and when the midwives and drs were giving me options, I felt confident making decisions. And I got a natural birth with gas and got to hold my baby for a few minutes before he was taken to special care.

First of congratulations! You look radiant, your strong and healthy! I really admire and thank you for making this second video. I'm sorry if I the question about pregnancy test was very insensitive, but because it wasn't explicit I was confused. I don't have IBS but I'm lactose intolerant and I don't tolerate other foods as well and my belly swells up like crazy too and have other symptoms as well so its possible that they could have masked your pregnancy and you shouldn't be ashamed of it. I found your journey to be very motivational and empowering, I like how you debunk so many myths and common thoughts about working out and pregnancy. Obviously everyone is different not every women has it easier in their pregnancy some have so many problems, like joint issues, too much swelling, too much fatigue to handle any workout.

Yes I had an amazing labor! I worked out almost everyday up to the day I gave birth. My labor was quick and amazing! I really recommend counter pressure! My husband pulled back on my hip bone and pushed on the opposite side of my hip bone on my back while the midwife pushed one of my knees in towards my body! Also, deep meditative breathing! I listened to white noise in my earbuds and it let me get into a zone I never knew was within me! It was beautiful

I genuinely think becoming a mum for the first time gives you superpowers. Like before and early days I was torn up with self doubt and feeling I couldn't do this. I'm 1 year in and now I am so sure in my own skin. I AM THE MUM. The buck stops with me and I feel so strong. Life doesn't care if you're ready or not so there comes a point where it doesn't matter if you think you can do it. You just have to do it. My advice is just start small and try your best. If you can say you did that then nobody can touch you. You got this, you just don't know it yet. X🤜

👏👏 Last part made me emotional! I am pregnant at the moment as well and I also feel super feminine, strong and amazing right now! Sure my beginings weren't lovely - Nausea, lack of energy, etc. But now as 3rd trimester started I feel energetic (despite back pain) and I LOVE my BUMP, I think it's adorable and feminine! I think it's all comes from the philosophy of training to improve what your BODY CAN DO, not how it looks - and it's doing now a miracle, so I love it more now, even though I did put on weight not only in belly 😂

The feminine and empowered thing. YES. I had an epidural the first time and the second time I wanted the whole experience and exactly, you feel POWERFUL. Empowered that you can do such a thing. Breastfeeding was icing on the cake for me in this regard. To me, being able to grow something for 9 months and then keep it alive for so long outside of the safety of my body with milk from my body was astounding too. It's hard to look at them thriving and believe "My body did that. It created an entirely perfect human and it continues to sustain this human!"

Hearing u describe how proud and feminine and empowered u feel about your body, I teared up bc I felt the same way! I peraonally was so vain before my pregnancy that I thought people that thought this way were corny lol but holy shit. When they say u love ur stretch marks u love your scars bc of what your body accomplished grew a whole baby. It's still mind-blowing that my body did that. And I super agree about there being stuff that are controllable like are emotions kind of, because I too was super excited to give birth. My babe was breech so I I ended up having a csection but I feel because I essentially just so mentally prepared for birth in general, I healed soo fast. Up and walking almost immediately. Good luck on everything ur whole story had me in awe. I've been a fan for years uve always been super cute and ure so much cuter noww! Ur going to be and already are a great momma

Congratulations, again! You’re going to be a great mom! Best unsolicited advice that I can give: advocate for yourself. Doctors are very pushy and they aren’t on your schedule. Not all of them are this way but I didn’t get to deliver with my regular doctor so she didn’t have any connection to me and pushed for things that I didn’t want and used fear tactics to get us to agree. We couldn’t use a doula because of the pandemic but I’d definitely use one now. Next time I will deliver at a birthing center or at home. Study and meet all the doctors at your practice. You’re going to have a great labor and delivery! ❤️

Couldn’t agree more! I had a hospital birth with my first and they pushed to break my water and then with the immediate intense pain (that I wasn’t prepared for) they pushed for me to get an epidural. They did not encourage me at all, just wanted the easy/quick way for them. I had a home birth with my second and it was an absolutely amazing experience! I actually loved it and I am excited to do it again! What a difference it makes to have someone (my midwife) on your side! Encouraging and supporting you and your choices! It made ALL the difference!

@@RosyCheeksBoutiq that’s amazing! I’m definitely having my next at home with a midwife. So glad that you had a great second experience. At hospitals you just become a number. I have labor and delivery nurse friends who agree that it’s more like a factory than an individual experience, especially in a big city.

I got my iud removed last year and before I got it placed I also had a SUPER irregular period. I had the same reasoning and experience as you, the iud stop my periods completely, and I got it at the same time once a month every two months once the iud was out. I was happy at first because even though it was still not “regular” it was something! Yeah well, that ended February. I’m definitely not pregnant (I’ve been checking) but I haven’t gotten a period now since his pas… not concerning to me in the slightest, it’s just how it is for me. And yes, as an adult trying to plan for the future, it sucks. Teenage me thought it was a blessing

I am an information person so before giving birth, I watched birthing videos so I knew EXACTLY what to expect. It really helped. I'm so happy for you for wanting to experience all of it. I LOVED giving birth, which I don't say to many people because they think I'm crazy. But I trained like an athlete too and did natural birthing classes and it was so beautiful and I would do it again. Fun and effective tip for giving birth, do not scream while pushing because that tells your body you are panicking, grunt because that sends a control signal that you are working on a goal.

It was 3 months for me til I realized life was so busy & I had like the kind of spotting you think is your period but after like 10 days strait of eating a 4 for 4 from Wendy's exactly the same down to the Dr pepper and being just so tired it hit me when I woke up from my nap & I had an "oh shit" and just knew when you are in a routine in your life and you don't expect it it's like the scariest thing every emotion comes over you every single emotion & it's so overwhelming

I have had three 100% natural births. You are approaching it in the best way. As a runner, I always have "trained" for each of my labors and it is a must for sure, not just physically but mentally. Good luck to you! If you are interested, I always found hypnobirthing to be very helpful ( I loved the Positive Birth Company).

I’m 5 months pregnant and feel a lot like you. I’m more nervous about things the drs may push me into doing but not giving birth, I’m hoping for an unmedicated delivery and have done sooo much research so I’m so ready to have the experience.

Irregular cycle girlie here 🤚 my IBS and interstitial cystitis play a major role in that! However like many others I am a worrier and stresser… irregular periods have been a part of my life since I started menstruating!

Actually, there's different types of fiber. You have insoluble fiber, which does not dissolve in water and in turn makes poop more runny, which would help to ease constipation. Soluble fiber is the opposite, where it is does dissolve in water and essentially forms a gel with your poop, which bulks it up and thus eases diarrhea.

Have you thought about getting a doula for your delivery? You said you were scared that a doctor might take away from you having a meaningful delivery and doulas are there to protect you as a female and mother in the delivery room. I haven’t had one myself but I’ve heard they are extremely helpful in making you feel safe and not overseen by the doctors/staff at the hospital.

Could you make a video on some of the things you learned that are supposed to improve labor and delivery? I’m on baby #3 now, and the last two weren’t great despite working on things that were supposed to make L&D easier.

i think it speaks volumes to the power of the hypercritical voice we both share, that it convinced you the missing periods were due to you falling short of perfection. The hypercritical voice pushes us to great success, but can absolutely overlook the forest for the trees when caught up in details of life’s plans. isnt it funny. time and life moves us as much as we move through life. when we see results of our hard work we think that is the only way for anything to happen. but there are big surprises and chances in life that have nothing to do with whether we have achieved enough to keep that critical voice silent at night. thank goodness it doesnt ALL rest on our shoulders. blessings to you and baby!

Some women can also have prolong periods, I am one of these women. My longest period was 3 months, I really wish I was kidding, but turns out I have PCOS. We got you Abby, you don’t have to be embarrassed! I’m super excited for you and to watch your journey!!

I am at the end of the first trimester with my first, you said at the beginning of the year you weren’t feeling good mentally, my pregnancy came with really intense depression in the first trimester. Even with a traumatic life even (which I am also going through) it feels a lot more intense than mental health struggles I have felt before. Just saying that might also have been related to your pregnancy.
