As a woman who's planning her pregnancy right now, your first TMI changed my attitude TREMENDOUSLY! Your message that you want to enjoy and cherish every moment of ur pregnancy as it might just happen a few times in a lifetime and that pregnancy and giving birth is not just some "tough" time towards getting the baby - this hit me so hard and blew my mind! It s kinda a simple idea but I've never heard anyone to put it this way. It's always some scary stories on losing ur health, ur body shape, dramatic birth stories etc. I'm fully aware it s not gonna be a easy journey, but it is still AN EXCITING JOURNEY! This is how i see it now thanks to you, Abby! Wish all the best to you and ur family, kisses!!!!

This makes me so happy to hear 💛 that mental shift made such a difference for me and helped me stay more open minded and curious to all that came with pregnancy, rather than just focusing on what was challenging. I’m so excited for this chapter of your journey!

I just learned that breast milk in the AM has cortisol to help the baby wake up in the morning, and melatonin at night!! So cool- I learned it from my friend who just had a baby.

New mommy myself. Baby girl just turned a month today ❤️ suggestion: YES!! Super into hearing you speak for hours, especially about mommy and fitness stuff! (Can’t wait to start lifting in two weeks… hopefully!) as a new mom, I ALWAYS have KZbin or podcast playing I. The background as I’m running around with baby in the house so the longer the videos, the better! I’ve never needed more content to watch lol. I feel like I’ve watched everything I would want to on every streaming sight by now hahah

It’s amazing how the body changes after months and years of healing. The linea negra disappears in time. Something weird that happened to me was I developed crazy hardened dry wrinkly skin on my forearms that lasted a few weeks, I’m assuming from breastfeeding and getting a bit dehydrated. It was so strange! Happened to a friend of mine as well. Totally temporary. Keep giving yourself and your partner loads of grace. As soon as you get comfortable, it all changes! We parents are rooting for you!

Thats a definite yes from me in regards to sharing a "more balanced view" on your social! I know that you try to keep it positive since there are so many people out there who depict pregnancy, children and overall parenthood as this huge burden. But as a soon-to-be-mom, I feel as if a too positive narative can also set the wrong expectaions. I really like that you address your struggles in your TMI talks and I think it would be a great idea to also let that flow into your social content every now and then - for a healthy mixture of positivity and reality. Thank you so much for your honesty! You are doing so great! ❤️

Bonding with my first was like meeting a stranger. That for the first couple months of life doesn’t really give you much in return other then demands with screaming and crying. I guess a positive return was sleeping. As she grew the bonding happened a lot easier. But getting thrown into unplanned motherhood is pretty scary and can be super overwhelming at times. Also with the skin thing just know you can’t use retinal or tretinoin while breastfeeding. Or avoid those types of skin products. I didn’t know this

Hi Abby i've just stumbled across your videos today :) My husband and I are planning on trying for our first baby very soon, I've started going to the gym to help get in better health for it and find i'm really enjoying it and definitely want to carry on, I didn't think i'd be able to carry on going to the gym whilst pregnant so it's nice to see journies like yours where you and your baby are perfectly fine and safe. It gives me the confidence to know I can do it too x

Hi Abby! I’ve been trying for almost a year and a half and just started fertility treatments. Your journey has given me a lot of perspective on what it’s like and I really appreciate it! I understand why you felt pressured to feel positive about your pregnancy. Just know that as someone who’s struggling with fertility that we know that pregnancy and trying to get pregnant isn’t always glamorous or happy. Just as women like me should be able to express our feelings, so should women like you who have the opposite experience. You were and are doing your best and what that looks like changes everyday.

Used to follow u and your workouts religiously, but then had a baby and joints/workouts need to change a bit for a while after, then 5m pp I got pregnant again lol and I felt disconnected from your workouts. I wished so much u would have a baby and I could feel connected again like u were in the same place as me. Then I had my third boy 3m ago and I just recently found out u had a surprise! I also had a home birth as well and it's so funny how hearing u talk and how much I feel connected again!!! Welcome to motherhood! It's a riot!

My daughter (who is now 20) was an unplanned pregnancy. I was the age she is now when I got pregnant and was not even sure I wanted kids. It was hard to even tell some people I was pregnant (I worked with a couple of women who were in their mid-30s who were struggling with infertility who were upset I got pregnant unexpectedly so early in a new relationship), which made me feel an immense amount of guilt. And nobody told me not feeling overwhelming joy right after birth was okay. I feel like I wasted my post partum period beating myself up for not being a good enough mom. If I could go back in time, I would do things so differently. Thank you so much for being so open, so transparent about your experience with pregnancy, birth and motherhood. You've created such a beautiful safe space here.

Did you know you can workout with your baby too? Babies don't sleep, or not in their bassinet, that's a joke childless people tell you. If you a woven wrap, and there are workouts that you can do with your baby on your back. And I even did your workouts when I was a new mom using the baby as the weight :) He loved it, we were laughing a lot!

Same feeling about the guilt of not being absolutely and only happy of being pregnant. I am actually pregnant (23w) and it wasn't planned (although I found out in the second month). My family is planning a beach vacation for when I am right at 8 weeks postpartum - this June. Do you think it is too early for a 5-hour car ride with a newborn, for going on a trip myself at that stage? My husband and baby will both be with me, but do you think it's possible to be physically ready for a beach trip 5 hours away at that point? Thanks Abby!

I'm sorry I don't have an answer for you, though I am in a similar boat - family is planning a reunion that is 14 hours away, when I will have a 5 month old! Not sure what I will do either. My only advice is to tell your family to chill! You need some time to make your decision and that is okay.

This was me also. Severe nausea every waking moment for 6 weeks straight. I couldn't take ginger due to reflux, but "morning ease" lozenges get good reviews. Just do what you can day by day, meal by meal. Find out what is tolerable and roll with it. If it's not up to your normal dietary standards that's ok. I was not eating as much protein as I would've liked, but I simply couldn't at the time (and baby is now doing wonderfully at 34 weeks :) Don't let yourself suffer unnecessarily. I had these godawful prenatals that made me miserable but I didn't want to waste them. I went way too long before buying a different one. I worked way too hard to keep up our normal meal routines when the thought, sight, or smell of food filled me with repulsion and dread. I worked too hard trying to keep up the normal housecleaning routine. Next time, my plan is to REST as much as possible, give myself much more grace in that temporarily terrible time, and let my husband eat sandwiches and frozen food. Treat it as if you have the flu. Know that it's temporary, but it's hard! You're not meant to push yourself. Your "normal" may not be possible for a while and that is ok. As for specifics, ice water was the only thing that brought me any relief, if only for a second. The most tolerable foods were fresh, light things like strawberries, applesauce, yogurt, veggie wraps, etc. But everyone's different. Just do what you can, and take all pressure off yourself for the time being. It will get easier soon, I promise. :)
