I caught the 216th Sturgeon in modern times in TN. I have a certificate the state sent me. Caught it on Old Hickory Lake about a half mile from where they were raised.

When I was a teenager in the 70's we would regularly catch 6-8' sturgeon on the Columbia river.

That could be one of the original ones they stocked some have been caught all the way down to guntersville

They have been known to travel thousands of miles. Up river from here is a small river where they have been seen spawning naturally.

You probably be surprised that this is probably about 10 years old if that I was told put them in not too long ago

They have been stocking them since 2000. So 24 years old or older if its parents were survivors. One of the small rivers upstream from it is a known natural spawning area.
