Being a diehard outsiders fan for 20 years how did I not know this existed???? I’m ashamed in myself but glad I found it now. I am so happy this is a thing and omg those lucky girls. What I would give to have been a teen in the 80s. This was such a good watch. Ugh I loved every second of it and so obsessed with anything that has to do with the greatest movie of all time. nothing will ever beat it

14 year old me would have DIED if I got to meet Matt Dillion. Omg so lucky!! We read the book in school to, maybe 2004. I saw the movie right after and fell in head over heals love with Matt Dillion. Awesome it spanned at least 20 years in schools. If the kids don’t still read this, that’s a shame.

I remember when this movie first came out on cable and I saw it for the first time. It was on a channel called Prism. I was OBSESSED with them ALL!!!! A few years later Tommy Howell and Juliet Lewis were filming a movie in my hometown and my best friend got to meet and get pictures with Tommy. She said he was so sweet. ❤

The kids came up to them and just hung out and talked to them like normal human beings instead of all of in their face taking pictures and stuff the guys enjoyed the attention especially they weren’t well known at the time it’s normal for everyone to scream and cheer in the audience and have the guys talk on stage and stuff because they were all excited this was everyone’s first time seeing the film it was an exciting time for everyone

I just feel like their human rights are not the same as ours sometimes. You cant even go to the grocery store without being treated like a walking picture or something. I dont know I know some celebrities probably dont mind such as c thomas howell and the others, but sometimes I just feel like its probably hard to live that way. It’s not like this is a new thing and they had NO clue something like this could happen. I know it is worse now then it has ever been and I am sure it can get very invasive and even annoying and I am sure there are days that they wish they could just be unrecognizable. But as the old saying goes ya gotta take the bad with the good.

“The Outsiders” is a cinematic masterpiece and quite frankly the best “from book to film” movie I’ve ever seen. I proudly introduced it to my new wife who like me grew up in the 80s, but somehow missed seeing this great film. She loved it and I of course became emotional when seeing it and hearing Stevie Wonder’s “Stay Gold” at the beginning and end credits. A heartfelt movie with great actors in their youth. 🥹🙌🏾❤️

Maybe it's a minority opinion but I feel Matt Dillon should have been bigger and more successful than Cruise or Lowe or any of the rest of them but it didn't turn out that way

I agree. I just watched “The Saint of Fort Washington” earlier tonight and I kept thinking about how much I like Dillon as an actor and how underrated both he and that movie are.

@@Wildcock23 I never saw that and I will put it on my list of stuff to watch. I remember a film "A Kiss Before Dying" he did alongside Sean Young who might be the female counterpart to Dillon in that she was also projected to have a loftier destiny in the industry. Another film I liked Dillon in was the romantic drama "Mr. Wonderful "
