I like the little nod to Stay Or Leave that Craig Bake did when he was demonstrating the guitar with the unique high B tuning.

I built up the orig conversion for Rob Cavallo about 15 years ago. Ive done several projects for him and Green Day so he approached me about doing a copy of his guitar cause Dave liked it so much. This was during the recording or just after if Im not mistaken. I copied the guitar to the last detail including a pair of 1972 Gibson Les Paul Deluxe mini humbuckers. Yes, it sounds great.

@IvanTuroc As someone previously stated, its a Veilette Gryphon (just Google "Veillette Guitars"). They're based in Woodstock, NY. The guitar's base price runs about $3,500.

Amazing how similar the Stratocaster with twin humbuckers "custom made" looks almost identical to Fender's "Blacktop Series" MIM Stratocasters that retail at $499 at the music chain stores. Utterly amazing, bet Dave paid a ton more for basically the same guitar that a "friend" custom made in LA Great Idea Craig!!!!

They both “sound good”… as Craig says… the Blacktop is more crunchy the SM-1’s are a bit smoother.More than a JND… have you played them? :-(0)

@ChadVanHalen515010 жыл бұрын
Know local guitar players and let them know you'll do tech jobs or let venues know in case someone asks for one... Go to smaller national tours, Faster Pussycat came by and I talked to their tech at the bar for awhile, I'm sure if I thought about it I would have asked how he got the job as tech/merch guy for Pussycat
@li2ljay10 жыл бұрын
Gotta get a foot in the door somehow . Thanks for the advise Chad !
@ChadVanHalen515010 жыл бұрын
Also teching is more than changing strings, while that's most of it, it's changing strings and then set up the guitar at each venue for it (and have fun if it's a guy like me who plays Floyd with multiple tunings and backups for each) and being able to on the fly resolder connections in a guitar/amp/pedal, glue broken Gibson headstocks, etc haha Ya put an ad out on your local classifieds website or Criagslist and go to shows! Talk to the guitarist/s as they're breaking down/setting up. Most local shows won't need that kind of work but who knows which will eventually be doing out of state shows and need a little help with guitars and merch or bass and merch or whatever. Unless you get a job in a big band you're gonna be doing a lot of side jobs to save them money

I see a lot of your trolling bullshit on here and apparently you think you're the expert's expert! This is exactly why you got beat up and had no friends in high school. Try some positivity for the moment and when we get to the part about the whining and annoying know it all, we'll ask for you to join in. Until then shut your pie hole! BTW nice scarf Kook!
