Love love it its huge, plenty of room to party ha ha... Because i live in South Australia we would put shade cloth on the top, because our summers here are HOT HOT HOT & its a dry heat with fly just to top it off... & us Aussies love our BBQ's in summer id have a BBQ in the corner, Job well done >> :)

Awesome! Another great project and fantastic Ideas for my deck I'm trying to plan! One question I have is how do you run your power for lighting on the pergola so you don't have an unsightly cable running up a post?

We usually tuck the cord behind the post and run it up the j channel behind the siding!

Those lit panels grew on me. I do have to say, I think I saw some Pat Cam staining opportunities but noooo, you had to stick with the time lapse huh? 😂 I really like the pergolas metal roofing and how it all fell inside the framing. It looked more sleek and modern instead of an attempt to draw attention to it, allowing the lit inlays and bar to stand out more. Next time, I’ll expect some Pat Cam. 🤪👌🏻

I was wondering what hidden fasteners you use. All the ones I have used only allow for a single board at a time to be fastened. I see a huge advantage to layout several and then attach them to the structure. It will allow you to maintain a straight line without all the pain of checking every few boards.

They are used to lay the correct amount of paver base uniform to the area. However, in this case, the correct paver base was not used. Instead they took the cheaper route and just used gravel.

For the post to beam connection, the cutout on the post is made on the inside corner. Is that just a preference? Any issue say the post shoulder is on the outside?

Excellent job except I don't like that portable BBQ. It needs a built-in BBQ. Only objection to some people may have, that beautiful Grill work could have struck the Fung shui from the interior of the house looking into the back of the house. At my own personal home I had some Grill work up, more or less it was a lattice for some privacy from the neighbor, but after I found out there been some peeping Toms hiding out in the backyard I took the lattice down. I just put up some large 36 in diameter hanging baskets at various levels for some privacy and that works out good to screen out the neighbor's home.
