How do people think fish get to their local fish stores? They are shipped. It's just part of the hobby.
@A1AAdventures4 жыл бұрын
It has to be done. Properly is the most important part.
@L3adb3lly4 жыл бұрын
If you buy direct from a breeder and it's shipped, you're less likely to get DOA's than what stores get from their massive shipments from the drop shipper / wholesaler. I really wish people paid more attention to what happens before they buy stuff - not just animals, but food, and everything else too.
@SimplyBetta4 жыл бұрын
I get a lot of rage in the comment section when I ship fish, ugh
@A1AAdventures4 жыл бұрын
Im sure you execute the process Stellar. Reptiles and all Animals endure the same procedures, however its up to the shipper to properly do so.

Carrier Services can make a difference as well. Depends on the handler and if inclimate conditions take place too. Hold us time with shipping (heat packs/ cold packs).

@Asp479994 жыл бұрын
Bettass or queenbettas on eBay I recommend. Looks like it may be the same seller she got hers from. The fish will have importing and extra shipping costs and will go through a middle man in the US. This is standard for importing fish. I pay around $80 for 2 including import cost.

Space City Fish has a very nice selection of very nice bettas
@kaylacrouse70944 жыл бұрын
Are you Canada or USA? Space city is great (USA Texas) and what you see is what you get. Also, Rena's fish store does both and Puerto Rico. However, because of the riots, no longer shipping to United States, for now. And if Canada, Bettas Bettas has been good to me.
@kaylacrouse70944 жыл бұрын
Also, I prefer those sites because they ship directly to my door. Typically I avoid eBay because if you don't have an import license for livestock, they have to ship to your accepted transporter or whatever, and then you pay to get it. So it's expensive and stressful on the fish.

Hi Taylor! Amazing to see how someone living very far away from our region is unboxing mail-delivered betta fishes...just like we do here! 😁 And yeah..for anyone else wondering, that's how our reputable betta breeders do the betta packing for mail-delivery. Only just minus the polystyrene box and substituted with sturdy carton box, because well, for us in the same region/country as the breeders it's just a few day trips with the courier service. For the bi-color bettas, we in Malaysia is referring to that type/line of color as "Blue Rim" and the 'cleaner' the body is, as well as the thicker/well balanced the blue banding at all the fins, the more pricey it would be. 'Clean' here means the body has no marble pattern or dots at all. All white and bright and clear. If the breeder selling you the Blue Rims already established the genetic line of his bettas, yes it would not turn into all blue and will maintain the color pattern. If you have the opportunity, please try to purchase from Malaysia breeders too 😉 I know a few reputable breeders here and some of them have been breeding bettas for about 10 years (and still going on). Nice Gold Dumbos, Black Samurai, Nemo, Red Koi Galaxy (?) and Yellow base Koi Galaxy(?) HM 😍😍😍 All these are quite expensive even in our region and even from unstable breeders. I am wondering whether you have any Pikachu betta? Sorry for this "article" 😂

About ten years ago I paid top dollar and imported several crazy multicolor bettas after a thirty year hiatus from keeping fish. It was unbelievable what the Asian breeders had come up with. By the third or fourth month I was left with a bunch of blue bettas... didn't see that coming. Ohh, one more thing - You are the unicorn, I've watched so many people from novices to "gurus" showing off their BAYTAS (Betas). It's nice to see that you get the deal with the two Ts in BETTA, for me it adds a lot of credibility.

Glad you’re back, we missed your videos. Love some of these fish, I can’t wait to see what you come up with. :) ... but wait, there’s more. 😂😂. Ugh. Sounds like you’ve been through it. :/ you need an assistant. Lol. I’ll help, but you guys have to move here, I’m not driving all the way over there. 😂. Sorry you had some problems. Maybe go back to the basics, check your water and see if your tapwater parameters have changed maybe it needs to be filtered now or they added chemicals or did something at your water plant. I know when I moved here and started setting things up I tested all the basics and everything seemed fine and three weeks later everything died on me so I went and got every test I could and found out my GHNKH were almost nonexistent and it started with a few guppies but they like hard water and apparently they need it not just like it so I started mixing my own and got more and they’re all great now. I still test my water every month or so to see if it changes, especially in small towns that have reservoirs and do a lot of chemical treating to water and it can change a lot quickly. :/ Sorry you had some problems, hopefully you get some more great fish and get back on track. :/
@SimplyBetta4 жыл бұрын
Hi Shane! Thanks, I def. was careful about water parameters. What I ended up doing was tightening up on "security" lol, I made sure to sterilize all my equipment, remove sick fish to a different area, and not cross-contaminate equipment. Keep up the battle👍 a few fish channels I watch are having problems with mysterious illnesses also. Some of them have figured out their City municipal Waterworks did a flush or added extra chlorine to their water without their knowledge.
@ReneesZooTube4 жыл бұрын
I had this happen to me years ago. Did a water change and watched all my guppies start freaking and struggling and watched my favorite male die right before my eyes. Through research and some guesswork I figured out that my town had changed to RO water with chloramines. Totally changed the pH of the water and my water conditioner wasn't equipped to handle the chloramines. I switched water conditioners and had to add in other stuff to harden the now soft water. Then my fish started to get better. So now I'm super careful not to do water changes if there's been a big storm either, because that's when towns will add extra chemicals to the water supply.

I do my best to get my fish in a nice little home, though sometimes that is a large jar until proper quarantine is over, which can take a long time

I'm actually glad I found this channel. I've kept betta fish my whole life. It will definitely be a hobby of mine eventually. I've been looking for responsible breeders. I only have one little dude right now. I think he's a crown tail (his package wasn't labeled when I got him about a year ago). He's jet black and reminds me of ink.

Thanks so much for stopping by and subbing! I admit I'm a bit of a freak about my fish, haha. I'm not so great at relaxing and taking breaks, but I'm def. trying to slow down a bit. And thank you, my ring light makes my eyes all glowy :P

They are all so pretty but I really like the black & white ones & gold. I was wanting to rescue more bettas but supposed to snow all week and be in the -10 range so think I ll wait till Spring.

I just lost 5 out of 6 young plecos that I bought a couple of weeks ago. Looking back, there were signs that the fish weren't healthy before I realized there was a problem and started medication. I thought maybe I could have saved them. After 40 years of keeping and breeding fish I still make mistakes, and still come down really hard on myself. In reality, these fish probably came in diseased, and there may not have been anything I could do. I'm rambling but my point is don't get disheartened. Hang in there, and make sure to keep YOURSELF healthy through the stressful times! :)

Thank you @Woody Green. I do have the bad habit of taking this like this personally! I think a lot of us do, to an extent. Thanks for the kind words ;)
