I've made several quilt jackets. The first was made with 4.5" squares alternated with a solid color of your choice. I made 2 of those. They have zippers on the front and pockets. I do have a garment sewing background. I used a layer of flannel and layer of thermore. Great drape. I made the same jacket for my daughter. She wanted a different batting so I used regular quilt batting - she looked like the Pillsbury doughboy. I made the Millenium jacket for my mother with just flannel. I found it to be just as good a drape as my original jacket and as warm as my first jacket. The Millium jacket was several different blocks. This did challenge me as I was just learning on my quilting journey. The other jackets were straight sewing so easy also. I was the only one in the class I took with a clothing background. None of the other quilter only had any difficulty with making their jackets. Honestly those jackets you're wanting to make wouldn't be difficult for any quilter. I'm wearing the Millium jacket now (origionally made for my mother), flannel only and warm enough for Las Vegas, NV. winters. Yes it does get cold here.

The originator of Block-loc rulers, Janna passed away on February 17, last year I think. I saw this info online. So sad. I spoke to Janna at a quilt shows, she helped me purchase my Bloc-loc rulers. RIP Janna I will cherish her rulers.

A suggestion on the sweatshirt jacket and it being hot......You could always follow the instructions for opening out the sweatshirt, trace that on paper to make a pattern, cut the quilt top and lining and make it that way. If you want something between the 2 layers use a lighter weight fabric like muslin. So muslin for the sweatshirt fabric.

I feel like lots of people bought this pattern just because they watch you. You give them business.

I made a sweatshirt jacket with the shop in Schertz that closed. Scrappy fabrics and no lining inside. I am in San Antonio. I wore that jacket on many a cool days

You could sew the blocks on the wrong side of the sweatshirt and use the right side as the lining

Becky, where do I find Keith’s seam rippers? I don’t see your link..
@lindabrooks9494Күн бұрын
Talking about tracking --I ordered a seam ripper from Keith. We have been tracing it. It was coming straight here. Then it went thru Georgia and a nearby town near here and back to Georgia and now is back in the nearby town and coming here now!!! Post Office needs to dump the proud leader.
