You featured some products I wasn’t aware of. The Vortex monocular is a great suggestion I have a set of Bushnell 8x25 binoculars I’ve had for years but never really use them. A monocular would be half the size. I’ve been thinking about acquiring. A Grayl for a while. One item I’ve found very useful that could even be considered EDC is the Leatherman Raptor trauma sheers multi tool. It doesn’t replace a folding knife, but also doesn’t take up much more space than one when folded. 5.11 has the Braddock knife, a liner lock with an almost three inch blade made of D2 for $40.00. Comes out of the package sufficiently sharp. Not a replacement for a fixed blade but something of that size is worth considering for EDC especially when bulk and weight become factors.

Tie some orange or higher vis para cord on those zippers you need to access quickly with gloves At the end of the para cord place something like a red key chain O ring Experiment with the length of the para cord until it’s right and operates smoothly with gloves on This will make your drawing of any objects out of zippered pouches much easier in my experience When you have gloves on and it’s cold we tend to lose dexterity and feel in the tips of our fingers making fine motor tasks much more difficult The only thing to make that easier is to remove the tips of the gloves to the first joint of the finger however you will still be dealing with the cold so best for longer periods to utilize physics to your benefit I wish you peace ✌️🇺🇸

@ use an EDC bag and keep in there that way it’s always accompanying you into the office etc. on your daily routines Then if you need it you can transition it into your get home bag or bugout bag that you keep in your vehicle This is what he discusses here about transitioning Besides it fills the requirement for having a water filtering device on you st all times which you should because you don’t know if you will be able to make it back to your vehicle depending on the scenario and or environment at the time You can also just keep an extra filter in any bag that hasn’t been used yet If that filter has not been used it will not freeze I wish you ✌️

Water carrying device, some initial water, water purification tabs, water straw, etc. Without water, only oxygen is more immediate. Syringes too, ideal world IV or SC meds for about the top dozen most likely needs from antibiotics, pain relief (morphine or hydromorphone), benzo, stimulant, anti-fungal, anti-parasitic, epi-pen, the stuff for nerve agents, electrolytes, ability to start IV and have a liter of IV fluid and access to water bottles and mix in electrolytes and maybe glucose, sedative, damn an entire med cart. Oh, ok, he is speaking of water. Id still go with filters as well as ability to use purification tabs, boil, ideally way to distill, osmosis type set-up, directions to make natural water filtration and using burnt wood for carbon. Some package of pool-shock non-fungal type. Anti-diarreahal meds, something Army/Italian Army Doctor once gave me was a bottle of loperamide and a bottle of IDK but it contained a small amount of phenobarbital, belladonna, and other stuff and i don't know exactly what it was meant for or called but id brushed my teeth with bad water running through barracks and got very sick, very dehydrated, and they almost were going to cut into me after 2-3 medics, 1 or 2 nurses couldn't get an IV going but the doctor could. My bloodpressure had dropped to something close to 50/40 or 45/35 something bad. While they kept trying, i kept leaking fluids even sweating was bad at some point until that probably stopped but i don't really remember anything but scurrying around, blankets, and ice packs. First bag instantly squeezed in, second bag 5-10 minute slower squeeze alternated with fast dripping, 3rd bag fast drip, 4th(??) Probably took hour or more and i was sipping by then. By evening i was ready for fun. Craziness of late 20s, I guess.

Hi Magic. Please get your licence. It would be like buying your first and only gun, but just sticking it in a drawer and hoping that when you need it in a hurry later, during a stressful emergency, you'll "magically" (no pun intended) know how to use it! Bad plan! I know you're far away, but I.would be willing to personally help you. I have been following you for a LONG time, and respect you, especially your knowledge of firearms and accessories. The "search your house at the drop of a hat" thing is a straw man.argument by people who don't understand how the law really works. (A) the Feds can make up an excuse to search your house for a million reasons, not least of which is you talk about prepping and guns on the internet. (B) I don't know of ANY cases where they've used that reason to search someone's house, other than a couple of cases where the person had been repeatedly and intentionally causing harmful interference to police and commercial radio traffic, and had been warned multiple times to stop! This "don't get a licence because they'll have your address" thing is B.S. as they have your address already! Own a house? Have a bank account or credit card? Ever file taxes? Anything? >>> they already have your address! Seriously, get in touch with a local HAM group, download some of the good self study apps for your phone and take the practice tests they have built in, and, yeah, my offer to help you is sincere so try me out! Get your licence! That way you can practice by DOING until the day the SHTF and you'll ALREADY be fluent in radio operation so you can focus on other things like staying alive!

Snot happens! Ever think about planting trees and shrubs around your property? I learned to do it sooner than later because time flies by as you get older. As a land home owner of over 22 acres I think it is very important for may reasons. This farm land ideology is bull sh-t. So sad. lets take out all trees , drain the land in the name of progress and blind ambition. A farm hand for 40 plus years, and many other things. Grow some veg in that desolate ND country.
