Hello Lulu. I’m a new subscriber to your channel I’ve been researching van life and van builds. I think one of the first videos I saw of yours was where you had a bunch of ladies telling little show and tell about cool ideas and gadgets and things that they discovered as they were living life on the road. I’m a widow twice. I’m a minimalist. I’ve lived in a camper since 2019. Two days ago I bought my first van. And I gave the backseats away to a homeless man today because he said he had use for them so I’m getting ready to start my build. I’m so excited. My 1999 Dodge ram van 3500 her name is Stitches. She has only 65 thousand miles. I have been in the medical field for over 25 years. I’m a Home Health nurse right now and Next year I plan to retire I plan to sell the camper. I live in now and I’m moving into my van and hitting the road. am so excited. I’m very excited about learning how you cook your meals and the healthy food you eat. I’m getting ready to watch a video right now of yours. Thank you so much. I’m glad I found your channel and I hope to one day be able to attend one of your meet ups. God bless. And happy travels.

I’ve been assembling meals for about 3 years now. What a difference. It’s a game changer regarding meals. I find a lot of people don’t cook this way and meal times are stressful and not fun. When I started this method my family sat at the table and looked at me waiting for their plate. I instructed them it was buffet style. Make your own plate. Took a bit but they are used to my method now and it’s great always having cooked heathy meals ready to assemble. BTW- I’m a Japanese sweet potato lover now. ❤

You know, LuLu, I never thought I could not only sit through a shopping spree but, follow you through your organized prep work with just two mini kitchen appliances but, listening to you brings so much enjoyment. I feel like I am in your kitchen, keeping you company. You really get so much done, in advance, to get all your fixings ready for several meals. You are so disciplined with the foods you choose to eat, it is downright amazing. Now I know why you are so full of energy, positivity and joy. I feel guilty, though, about being lazy about what I could do for myself. My MIL's steamer pot is what I use for veg because the pressure cooker looks intimidating! I, too, prefer my toaster oven and use it daily. The big oven takes too long to heat up and wastes energy. Thanks for letting us watch. Best wishes, Heather Ontario, 🇨🇦

Lulu thank you so much I am farly new empty nester and a widow. Last few years I would cook the meat for both myself and my son. But he's such a picky eater I said I will cook the meet and I taught the different ways to cook his potatoes. I now now that he autistic that blew my mind. Very out going as a child but as he became a teenager the social aspects of life became very hard for him. I thought it was a combo of greif, teenager and covid shutdown. The only life long hint at autism was the food pickness. Just putting this bit out there so maybe it will help others. Anyway so now that he's off to college I really drag my feet about cooking. End up eating yogurt and a salad all the time boring. I have food allergies (gulten and sulfer which is onions & garlic I find that if I really cook the onions that I can eat them) I am also dibectic so eating out is tricky and limited to the same old meals too. So I'm trying to get my van setup for adventures and I really need to try to cook like you do. I did freezer meals for a while when my late hubby stayed at home with our son. But he never thought about cooking until he was hungry. The idea of letting something thaw blew his mind. I tryed setting up crockpot meals nothing worked. This was way before insta pot. It was crazy we had "homemade" fast food every night. I put on so much weight. Sigh I really need to get my act together and now I have the time to do so.

You make me want to get a pressure cooker. In my 60's, I'm going on the road for several months and will not have a house to go to until I get back. I have a butane cook stove, but a pressure cooker would be useful! Your advice on, "no one asked me" is interesting. I like it when people say to me, "would you like my take on (fill in the blank)?" I like knowing what others have to offer. I guess there is a time and place, an adult child doesn't usually want their parent's advice. The list of links you added at the end is great! Thank you also for taking the time to share all your knowledge and wisdom.

hello!! the pressure cooker is a handy appliance, as long as you have the power while on your on the road!! I have both the butane and the pressure cooker, they are both perfect!!! another way to offer your opinion to someone that is not asking for it (like our adult children) is to say "I have an opinion/idea about that, would you like to hear it?" that line was shared with me by a very wise person, I've used it often!! thanks for writing!! That’s a great attitude, Lulu! It’s not easy, but once you get used to not giving people your opinion, it frees you! I just haven’t mastered it when it comes to my 85-year-old mother. But we’re going on a drive today to visit a friend so I will practice being aware of weather it’s a question or not.❤

Love it. You just reminded me, I have a pressure cooker( Its a big one like yours) .upstairs packed away ( my son and I moved last summer to here and theres still more unpacking to do.) I should/could be using for all my veggies and or meats but I've been using my slow cooker. Potatoes and sweet potatoes cook up quite well in the slow cooker. I bought a gigantic butternut squash, parsnips, beets I need to cook up. Lol. I love all the veggies you chose, especially bok choy and rainbow swiss chard. Thanks for sharing all of this, always a delight to view your video's.

Hi Lulu, your so good at making salads, with unique vegetables, and variety..looks very healthy! Ps.that music you inserted while grocery shopping was nice, it made me feel like I was on a tropical island 😃

Hi Lu Lu, great video🌟I also enjoy doing food prep but don’t usually have the variety you do. I typically have a variety of potatoes cooked and at least 2 greens, then I add anything extra which may be prepared tofu, or I’ll cook a red lentil flat bread, or even a Pizza and I’ll load it up with whatever greens I have, but usually with raw spinach. I’ve never cooked bok Chou, but I do love water cress and Swiss chard. I need to add a bit more variety to my staples of broccoli, green beans, spinach, cabbage, carrots, potatoes - all varieties, tomatoes and onions - red and yellow , and greens for a salad. 🌟My last grocery hall my shopping cart was filled to the rim and it will last me a couple to 3 weeks and I spent $175. My monthly food budget is usually $200-$250. I do put some frozen kale and spinach in the freezer for the last few days when I run out of fresh veggies, as well as cans of chickpeas, other beans and tomatoes. Glad you’re enjoying your home away from home. I’m in Southern California in the foothills of the San Gabriel mountains at 4,000’ and the weather has been in the high 70’s to low and mid 80’s. It’s been gorgeous. After getting 4.5” of rain in 24 hours from tropical storm Hilary (crazy), the next day was in the 60’s like a beautiful fall day. Thankfully, the ground did well and soaked it all up wonderfully with a few puddles here and there that dissipated by mid morning. I know other areas were hit a lot harder and my heart goes out to them and wish them all the best. Prayers for Lahaina 🙏her people, land, and animals ♥️

You are so inspiring! I have a CSA share so once a week I get a big load of vegetables. I struggle to use them sometimes before they go bad. So you inspired me to chop and cook everything so all I have to do is mix whatever I want together. And I did all this while I was on hold dealing with a problem. I had to make five phone calls to get it straightened out and I was on hold for more than a half an hour but I got all my veggies cooked!
@LulusWay64 Жыл бұрын
yay Betsy!! getting that cooking done while on hold, brilliant!!! you'll find just having everything cooked, you'll just throw together meals so much more simply!! ENJOY!! 💕

LOL, made me laugh LuLu, I share housing with my adult daughter and if I slip up and give unsolicited advice, etc, I catch myself and yell (to us both) "No Momming, no Momming" and we laugh. (Fortunately it doesn't happen very often anymore - had to unlearn/relearn :) Yummy foods!
