You are very correct about newer vehicles having shit quality interiors and even the more important components. I have a 2017 Camry with 146k miles but it drives like new and the interior shows almost no signs of wear!

I’ve been dashing full time for 3 years and have had customers tell me just last week and again yesterday that they’ve never had such good service all I did was call about a substitute for an item the store was out of! Makes me wonder what these other dashers are doing!!??

Exactly! If I don’t find an item I always contact the costumer and continue shopping the list while waiting for their response. Depending on the item, I either replace or refund if I finish shopping and no answer.

My daughter got the wrong order Saturday, she was very upset. As a driver I felt embarrassed of seeing her upset, as her mother I was mad at her 😂 the driver ended up coming back and swapping the orders. It’s a chance but she didn’t opened the food just yet, so that driver should have paid attention to the ticket name on the order or separate the orders. In my case first drop off is always on front seat, second drop off is under, and if I have a third order it goes behind my seat, all in hot bags, in 3.5 years, I’ve only had delivered the wrong order once, and that was when I started 😊

You can deduct the car rental expense BUT *only if* you don't take the standard business mileage deduction.

I've bought a 2005 Prius for $4500 to dash in. Right now it's getting ~50mpg. Which is nice, but it's an old car. I think if it fails I might try renting a car to dash in to see how it goes.

I highly recommend buying a used model 3. I bought one from Hertz for $18,000. Save $3,000 per year in gas. Amazing value.

There's pros and cons to renting the big pro you never have to do any maintenance pretty much worry free when it comes to any type of mechanical issues which is nice.

Check with your insurance company if your coverage carries over to a rental. Majority of insurances do, but don't guess - call your insurance and make sure. You also might be able to pay a little more thru your insurance to extend your coverage to a rental which will be cheaper than taking hertz daily coverage. If you don't want to worry you can always take the (CDW) collision damage waiver hertz offers at around $26 a day to walk away from damage/theft with no fee if it happens.

I do a week or a month depends on the vehicle when I had the crysler is was doing it per month @ $240 a week. Tried to get it as long as I could at that price. The malibus I'm doing 1 week at a time. I earn a bunch of points and can use them towards the rental, I already have enough for entire week for free any car, even luxury

I'm going to be dashing next week. On my days off. If it pays enough I might call it quits but worried about the high gas prices. I was in a region that I like today and they had some pretty stellar orders come in as I was testing it again. My zone pays 14/hr though.

With all the rentals, your accountant must be annoyed when it comes to claiming mileage for every vehicle. Good you got the same one again, but I’m trying to wrap my head around how you declare each vehicle. I am sure you have a mileage app or log but I would be curious to hear how you handle your mileage tracking with 52 weeks of car rentals.

I don't own the car therefore I can not deduct miles, but I can deduct the entire rental for business expense.
