That's funny, I do the same thing. I use lunch meat containers as storage containers. I love em. They really come in handy.

Nice video. I do Home Health care and it’s just one little lady so I almost always try to recreate all the box products that come into the house. Keeps cost down. Have a good weekend.

I've pressured cooked some of my beans, then dehydrated them and put them in storage. I made a pot of ham and bean soup recently and the beans came out great! How to video on you tube channel "Katzcradul." When water and power are in short supply, these beans do not take hours to cook!

have u tried the mountain house nr #10 cans that has like 30 years shelf live ? are they eatable ? or just taste horrible ? 45 dollars for 1 can seem a bit much , they claim its 10 servings , but it only needs like 8 cups of water for a whole can , dont sound to me like much food for the price... any ideas?

I don't care for mountain house myself. But I've eaten Vietnam era MREs and my husband still eats noodles in his coffee (german thing) from being stationed overseas...lol...Make your own meals in jar...so much better. Get a dehydrator...or buy dehydrated from thrive. they have good food. But to make your own...best and you can vacuum seal in mylar bags or go to a cannery and use their equipement and seal up your own goods. I buy my chicken from a cannery directly in bulk. So much better!

Neat idea! Where's the cheapest place to get the cheese? I can find Velveeta at Dollar Tree for $1
@OurLittleHomestead4 жыл бұрын
I got my packets from Dollar General, $1 each but with velveeta coupon it's cheaper. Or if they are having a sale on code items. I got my packets for >50 each last month. But still, it's cheaper then the box mixes. Can add meat for a dinner meal. Can add other sauce packets too. I like tomato basil mixes. Or spaghetti pouch sauces. You can find the velveeta cheese sauce pouches near the KNOR packets of noodles and rice pouches! Good luck!
