I have six rescue animals. Three cats and three dogs. Now I spend more on my animals than me. My husband and I use to have a farm but he died and I had to sale. This is why I have so many. One kitten was run over on the highway in front of me. I couldn't leave it there so I took it to the veterinarian and he has been with me for twelve years now. He did loose his tail when he was run over but he is ok and 9 lbs. Very spoiled and very healthy.

Never spent more than $10,000 for a car. I have only owned 5 cars in the 40 years that I have had a drivers license. Since February, I have only driven my minivan 400 miles and have walked or hiked over 1,200 miles. 3.2 miles to Safeway, 3.3 miles to Dollar Tree, 3.8 miles to the gym, all round trip, of course. I even walk to the airport 3.8 miles one way. By the end of August, my expenses for the year will only be at $5,000. Will probably be between $12-14,000 by years end. This includes two trips flying back east to visit family. Just got back from my first visit. Next will be at Christmas. I view keeping my expenses low as a challenge, not a burden.

My husband and I recently found ourselves in a big financial hole. He got a higher paying job which helps. Also we started unplugging everything we’re not using (heaters, coffee pot, toaster etc) we cut our car insurance to liability, we’re supplementing our chickens food with foraged fruit and edible weeds, I only use toothpaste in the morning and brush with water at night, I save every single plastic bag for scooping cat litter(like bread bags, tortilla bags etc) I use the big chicken food bags in my kitchen garbage can, I wash and reuse ziplock bags, use the bidet for pee instead of tp, we cut up old t shirts for disposable cleaning rags instead of buying disinfectant wipes, we no longer buy paper towels, we cut our own hair, we had a big jug of olive oil given to us that’s tasting sort of rancid and I’ve been using it to make homemade soap, we don’t buy the kids all the school supplies on the list (they need notebooks, pens, and pencils) we have simplified our cooking because you don’t need all those fancy ingredients, during the day we don’t use lights in the house and only use ac if it’s super hot, I only use a tablespoon of laundry soap per load which I learned about on this channel, and of course we garden, fish, and forage. I have an old applicator brush that I use to mix it in the tray and apply it to my hair. I make sure the tops are screwed on tight on the other half of the product still in the 2 separate bottles. Keep it in the box for next time. Wash out the brush & plastic container when done. I make 1 box hair dye last for 2 dye jobs. In Canada, he hair dye is $6-10 a box.♥️🇨🇦

My family and I just came back from a family trip to Orlando just a couple of days ago and we did not stay in a hotel. We drove in our big van that we have. A ford transit . We stocked it up with two of those three tier plastic drawers, put food, snacks, plasticware in one, and on the other drawers we had all of our clothes. We fit a queen size bed inside the van and the younger child slept on the floor on a twin size bed and, we stayed in our van while we parked it at Loves gas station. We took showers at the gas station ($17 for the 3 of us) and it was amazing for a budget trip. We did not want to spend a lot and we made it happen! It was our first time experiencing that. It was different and we thought outside the box, and again we went and did free things like visiting the hotel resorts at Disney which was a really cool experience. At the Animal Kingdom resort they had animals outside of the hotel that you could see for free and if they had activities going on outside to entertain the guest, you were welcomed to join in and do some of those fun activities with them, especially a lot of games for kids. There was a lot going on so it was amazing to visit. With all that being said, I love Loves gas station. They were very accommodating to our needs and for camping out there for our trip. Once you get past the fear of trying something new, you will realize that this is really easy to do and we will definitely be doing this again in the future.

You always have great tips. I agree with you There's such hypes for women like they have to be glamor girls. Very few schools teach critical thinking. Unless you are in college prep classes they condition children to become worker bees. I was a stay at home mom and our children went to a Christian school for elementary grades then I home schooled. So, one income for our family. I was pinching the penny. I roasted whole chickens and turkeys and beef roasts. I made salads, soups, casseroles that many included pastas, potatoes or rice. Now a days I also make bone broth. No garbage ingredients like the prepackaged foods. A book keeper recently told me there will no longer be 1099s. Those ppl will either have to become LLC or an employee. No more side hustles.

Give up your car! NOOOOO! I'd just die without my wheels (and I don't mean a bike : ) But then, I'm 72 and live in a rural area. In the Depression sometimes the car became the home and the only thing those people had left. Don't do it, PP! As for the insurance - might as well dump it since they have raised it so crazy and won't pay out.

Yes yes yes! When our daughter was in school, I always made her sandwiches out of the meat, pork or chicken that I cooked for dinner. It always provided enough for us also. Her friends were always jealous of her lunches!!! Especially when we had grilled chicken fajitas. She told me that she had the best lunches of anyone....even in High School!!! I still do that as empty nesters. I always cook more than I need for two dinners. And yes.... I have even frozen servings if we don't want to go through all of it within a couple of days. 2025 we believe will be a depression.

It's weird how our thinking can get locked into boxes. I used to buy the Old El Paso box for wraps thinking they were the only ones available and then one day I looked down on the bottom shelf at the supermarket and the supermarket did their own brand of the same thing for less than half the price and it tastes just as nice. All of those years I paid more than double just because I never looked down on the shelf and had been brain washed by tv advertising into thinking Old El Paso was the only option available.

Klaus Scwab, part of the World Economic Forum, wants LA to ONLY have "Driverless" vehicles by 2030. Same for Germany, but Germany wants people to turn in their licenses. So no more work for Uber drivers, and where is that car going to be programmed to take you and more importantly, WHY, people should be asking.

i don't wear makeup, but if I did I would definitely buy it from Dollar Tree. I bought a bottle of laundry detergent that was 78 loads, I think it cost 10 dollars. I bought it last year in February and I am still using that same bottle. I use very little of it for each load and I wash 2 loads per week, sometimes a few more if I am washing the dogs blankets and things like that. There are 52 weeks in a year, so I somehow doubled that bottle or I'm not using enough per load. It has worked and my clothes are clean. I am pretty happy with that. I still have more in the bottle. I did add water a couple weeks ago because it was no longer coming out. I have bought another bottle today, but this one has 200 loads in it for 12.00. I can't wait to see how long this one lasts. I am going to write the date on it, so I know when I start to use it just to see how long I can make it last. I have been using the same bottle of shampoo for about 2 years because I do not wash my hair every time I shower and I only use a small amount, not a handful or anything like that, maybe about a nickel size squirt. I pray and ask God to make my provisions stretch. His word says he will do this. Jesus fed 5000 with just a few loaves of bread and a couple fish.

Here in UK so many folk in their 50s buy cute cottages in the middle of nowhere and thetefore need a car. Whuch is fine until they get older and can no longer drive/ driving a car becomes too expensive. Then they are stuck, out in the middle of nowhere! And get very lonely. It makes bith prepping and frugal sense to live close to a small town with transport connections.

MAC Cosmetics, Prepper P 🤣. You're so funny. I have meant to tell you for a while now that the video you did on retirement and how much money you actually need to live during that period of time; was SO good. This a topic I have yet to see discussed on financial, prepping, etc. channels. I watched both of my grandparents live out their elderly years in very nice, upscale facilities simply off of dividends from investments. They therefore weren't a "burden" to the family, had plenty of money to not stress, and left a vast inheritance to my parents. I appreciate the awareness you brought to this topic because so many people need to be exposed to it as early as possible. I was raised in a family that thinks much like you do.

I’m a 65 year old woman who is afraid someone would steal my bike if I were on the road going to the store… any suggestions about that?
@PrepperPrincess2 ай бұрын
Bike lock, buy an e-bike with a key or code. Many can't be ridden without the key or code. Many also have a "secret button" located right by your fringer or thumb where if you push it, the bike will lock and not move. Would take a thief a long while to figure out where it was and eventually drop the bike out of frustration and run off.
@bmac52422 ай бұрын
@@PrepperPrincess I almost bought 2 of these bikes for my adult daughter/family. I then saw the footage of a battery catching on fire in a person's home. Then I had a small 48watt explode in my car (no fire so all okay). Can you put my mind at ease about these batteries bc I still would like to purchase the bikes. I do realize you can have terrible fires from even a 9volt if 2 touch each other just the right way - so I'm careful how I store them. Maybe the e-bike battery would be safe as well. Can they also be stored properly so as not to have explosions?
@PrepperPrincess2 ай бұрын
Batteries should not be left in car trunks that can reach 200+ degrees on a hot day if left in the sun. They will simply explode. As for the other batteries catching fire, I believe the vast majority of those are stolen e-bikes owned by homeless people that buy second-hand market cheap off-brand batteries to replace the originals. If you have batteries that are not from the original e-bike company, they are not properly rated for the bike you are riding. Meaning your e-bike might take 48 volts but the battery they replaced it with is 80 volts, which would cause the circuits to overheat and catch fire. People also often OVERCHARGE them with using replacement chargers. Same deal. Charger not intended for their battery is used, and overloads it, catches it on fire. Just use the correct battery, correct charger and don't leave them where they will reach 200 degrees and blow up or melt.
