Prepping the 1952 Caterpillar D2 for It's First Show

Getting some more neglected maintenance taken care of on my 1952 Caterpillar D2. This is in preparation for taking it to the 2023 HCEA show in Bowling Green, Ohio. Stay tuned for video from the show!

Just subscribed. We have a couple of D4's One a 1940 -7J is a good machine. the other a 49 D4 -7U is a POS. We also have 25 tractors and a whole hoard of stuff. My name is also Randy. And I am a 72 year old relic.

We had a 6.2 diesel that had no go, so we put a Banks turbo on it and it ran much better. All Cat D2's were made as ag tractors. Cat never made a blade for them until after WWII. It was a after thought. The engine is too far forward and adding a blade in the front made it worse. Look up Squatch253 for details.

I enjoyed the video! The plastic replacement gas tank for the starting engine looks just like the original metal version. Where did you find that? I have a 52 d2 that needs a replacement starting engine tank. Thanks!
