I'm so happy to learn about heating to evaporate the alcohol! Tinctures are so good, an the option to take a small amount and evaporate the alcohol, and storing in the refrigerator, 'as needed', never crossed my mind. What a GOOD idea. Thank you! God Bless

I'm a diabetic trying to go keto (ish). I'm also having a hard time finding things like stevia here in Ukraine, but the quest goes on and I have some leads. We also have a (wannabe) homestead in Maine and will be trying to grow this and other herbs and veggies this summer (our first year together on our farm). Call it "the unction" but I decided to start searching for stevia here at YTU and yours was one of the first channels to come up. So glad I stopped by for a visit. A beautiful and unashamed Godly woman and spot on advise and homestead howto to boot. You are a true Blessing. SUBBED Tim & Irina

I'm highly allergic to any type of alcohol... Every time I drink it I have very bad things happen. Mentally, physically, and spiritually... :0( I praise God for setting me free of a 43 year addiction to alcohol. It's been 16 years and counting since Jesus set me free and gave me a brand new life. And HE has taught how to handle life's upsets without booze. It hasn't been a easy road to walk on, BUT I know Jesus is right beside me while I'm going through the rough times. Trust you me there have been a lot of rough times. God never promised us a easy road, but HE did promise to be right there with us as we walk the road called life... Be blessed.... BBE..

She went to great lengths to emphasize that the alcohol is evaporated OUT of the liquid. Unfortunately, the only thing that "virtue-signaling" alkies can hear is VODKA. Rational people who are alcoholics, know the difference between the alcohol in a bottle of cough syrup and a three day bender.
@northeasttexasgardener3 жыл бұрын
@@fazbell No, she said boiling off the alcohol was an option. With the alcohol, the extract is shelf stable, and without the alcohol it must be refrigerated.

Nasty green color but works great for my tea and homemade Greek yogurt. ordered dropper bottles from amazon to dispense my stevia extract. I wondered the same thing and found the answer to our question on this site www.leaf.tv/articles/how-do-i-remove-the-alcohol-from-drinks/-Bring the liquid to a simmer then adjust the heat as necessary to keep your beverage simmering gently. Do not boil the drink, as this will cause too much of the liquid to evaporate before the alcohol burns off and you will be left with an empty pot. I hope this helps you as much as it did me. God bless 🙏👍💕✝️

I made the stevia extract and it doesn't sweeten much. How much does everyone add to a cup of coffee? -- just curious. I will definitely go back and burn off the alcohol. We never drink and aren't used to that strong taste anymore, and even a drop tastes a bit like Nyquil.
@PREPSTEADERS5 жыл бұрын
K D-B, you shouldn't be tasting anything like nyquil. Keep in mind that the longer you leave the leaves sit in the Vodka, the more bitter it will become. Also, make sure to keep the heat very low when "burning" off the alcohol. Simmer it very low and slow or you will ruin it. I hope you have good success!

Hey sis!! This is so perfect!!! I've always wanted to know how to do this!!! I'm so grateful for this video ..I can't wait to try it!! I have a couple of questions please? What size Sweet Leaf bottle is that? I've never bought one larger than 2 oz. and the bottle you are holding looks larger than that? My second question is, do you think we could add flavoring to them from Vanilla or different flavored extracts? I love the flavored ones, especially the Raspberry flavor that I can't get too often from Amazon from a company in Iceland called "Good Good". They have raspberry, strawberry and grape, but it's my favorite because I don't taste any bitterness at all in those products, even though I like Sweet Leaf Stevia drops and buy those too. Thank you!!
@kanakshah31164 жыл бұрын
A little confusion / contradiction here in the process. You suggest soaking stevia in vodka for 24 to max 48 hrs - strain, evaporate on low heat and bottle. You then also suggest that you may leave vodka in the leaves for much longer and further process when you need to use it. You mentioned that leaving it longer than 48 hrs will make the liquid bitter. So how do I make sense of your suggestion ? I plan to initially just make one small batch as it will be the first attempt. Also - what benefit is there using alcohol versus just plain water ? Your clarification would be great . Thank you.
@sandrabaker59303 жыл бұрын
She said to strain the leaves out after 24 to 48 hours. Then bottle it and put it on a shelf indefinitely. When you need it, evaporate the alcohol on the stove; rebottle it, then store in the refrigerator as you use it.

I am a little bit confused though and maybe I just don't understand what the process was but it sounded like you said that if you left it for more than 48 hours it would get better but then I thought you also were saying to put it in a jar and it would last forever so why isn't it still turning bitter in the other jar?
@woofwoof-w4g4 жыл бұрын
She said it would get bitter not better. When you store it you have removed the leaves and just the alcohol and extraction remain unless you boil it down to remove most of the alcohol.
