I've thought that he is a Russian operative for quite some time now. And, his job is simple. Make a mess of America. Divide the country. He's doing a great job of it. The idea would be to do as much damage as he can in the shortest amount of time available before impeachment. That's why he keeps throwing up all these foolish tweets, etc. He throws out so much crap that people can't keep track of it. He's trying to make Americans distrust the press and he is doing it. Fake news he calls it. It's not secrets the Russians would be after, so much as making allies distrustful of the U.S. He's probably got a Cayman Islands bank account the Russians have been feeding for years. OR maybe, they have some evidence of Trump sexually involved sexually with some young girls or boys. Remember, the charge of the rape of a 13 tear old girl. His tax returns will show his tie to Russia financially. The longer it takes to catch him the more damage he can do. It doesn't matter how silly he may seem to everybody he is doing his job for the Russians perfectly. I believe that the FBI will get him, but he will never do time. This mess will be tied up in the courts for years. But, maybe I'm wrong. Those are just my suspicions.

I'm not defending Pence, but by your reasoning 'there is absolutely no reason to believe that' Pence is under extraterrestrial mind-control. I mean, hey! You can't definitively prove it's not true! My point is that the burden of evidence is on the accuser, not the accused. While I disagree with him politically, currently there's no evidence Pence is involved. During the campaign it seemed he didn't like Trump, but agreed to be his running mate for political expediency.

Indeed, the burden of proof is always on the person bringing the charge. But, there's a difference between implicitly concluding -- as an affirmative statement -- that Pence isn't involved (as Maher did) and saying, 'we need more information to determine what, if any involvement Pence has' which is what I was getting at. What I said is "there is absolutely no reason to believe that Pence isn't involved" which means "we do not have evidence to rule Pence out." That DOES NOT MEAN that we in fact DO have enough evidence to say that "he is involved." So, you misread what I wrote to the extent that you concluded that I was either saying that the burden of proof is *not* on those making the accusations, or to the extent that you reached the conclusion that I was saying that 'at this time, we know Pence is involved'. So, from this we learn that you need to try to think harder before replying to people, and me in particular.
