That was OBL's chief self-stated reason for attacking American buildings and ships leading up to 9/11. He thought it was a sin that the infidels based in his country to kill other Muslims. However, he didn't declare war on the US until 1996. Clinton had a couple of shots to kill him, but in one, he would've killed a Saudi prince which would've been a sticking point for the Saudis. In another, he couldn't secure basing rights in Uzbekistan in order to have planes close enough to attack him w/o having to refuel and fly all the way across countries to reach his reported spot in time to catch him there. Bill tried, wasn't his fault. George Walker Bush (the 2 termer son) was the one who failed. He lost interest in finding him at one point and said so in a press conf. "You know... we really don't care where he is, what's most important is to take out Al Qaeda." It was Obama (the black president all Repubs feared and hated) who made it a top priority from the start of his 1st term to find and adjudicate or kill OBL and he finally succeeded. +Johniscool Uh, no he wasn't. We don't even know for sure who did it, but Robert O'Neil has taken credit for it, and he is still alive and well. Also +Wildboy5699 there was so much more than just the Navy SEALs that went into getting Bin Laden. Intelligence officers who actually found the fucker, Obama deserves some credit for actually going for this despite the obvious risks, including but not limited to sending a group of armed soldiers into a sovereign nations borders without their permission, and of course the SEALs.
