Hey Zeos, great video. 8:56 The letter U in a circuit diagram stand for "Unity" which is the position on a potentiometer where there is zero gain, zero attenuation. It's (mathematically speaking) 1:1 which is unity. This is significant, because the circuit is (in my layman's terms) a pass-through circuit where nothing is being electrically done to the signal. In practical terms, it's my starting point for any signal; because I know the signal isn't being affected by the circuit.

BTW, tilting the speaker to the left or right vs upright or upside down has absolutely no affect on timing differences. Phase correlation is a function of time = distance * speed of sound. Whether your tweeter is 3” from your mid/woofer to the north or to the east doesn’t matter as much as the angle of incidence. This is why some prefer the co-axial monitor options. Personally, I can’t tell bugger all when listening on such tiny speakers. Though, when you start working on front of house mixes with speakers spread throughout an auditorium, the difference is much more noticeable and absolutely needs to be time corrected to prevent phase cancellation.

Been running these monitors with their studio sub for years now,,,, I put the piece of electrical tape over the LED logo. The combo of the Presonus monitors and PreSonus sub (8") rocks hard! It plays a lot louder cleanly than I can stand(a good thing). Want loud and clear? check! Also, if you get the matching subs from the same company the in/out are REA, 1/4 plug, and XLR. You can set the gain, slope as well as cut off the output at 80/100Hz. So if you want to use it with other speakers/amp or other studio monitors you can without a lowpass cut off if needed. for my setup I'm running all XLR cables.

All class AB amplifiers get hot and there is nothing wrong with that. Also E4.5 are crap in comparison to E5, there is no comparison (I have both). I think it's mainly because E4.5 is not bi-amped and uses passive filters.

The Temblor subwoofer matches perfectly, you run the xlrs to the subwoofer then passed on to the speakers. The Temblor cuts out the low frequencies, but has a pedal cutout to pass everything. Can you substantiate that?

I own the Presonus Temblor T10, It doesn't feature a standby mode as far as I understand and the manufacturer doesn't specify such a feature. Regarding the 20Hz to 200Hz specification, it's not entirely true. The sub bottoms out at about 30 to 31 Hz in a medium sized room. Rear controls and sub bypass are super useful and the sound is not boomy at all, very detailed and tight bass response. Wish the front grille was removable though :/

TJW595 the stand by is not adjustable. The only issue with it is that you have to have the volume set more than just minimum or it thinks there isn’t a signal and going into standby and the signal is cut to the speakers. That my only issue. Other than that, it an amazing sub for its size. Great for office/ desk set up.

they dont have such full-bodied sound that Eris 5 have. 3.5 are practically good table speaker - clear, very compact, aux in and out, volume control and all on the FRONT, but very specific and i personally didnt like them as table speaker. Got fatigue of very detailed information with bass rolled down too early on 70hz. Cant mix electronic music with them. I think they may be are good for mixing vocals/speach and classics. Scene, detalisation same as bigger models, sweet mids. But I found them good for loud listening standing outside of my desk! When played loud it seems more balanced - you start hearing some bass and heighs become not so fatigue. You can enjoy loud music without crazy BOOM BOOM BOOM. IMO 3.5 BT version is worth buying for listening loudly (e.g. from another rooms of the house) as its compact yet powerful.

I don't have a whole lot of experience with studio monitors so not much to compare them to other than my passives, but from the moment I set them up I was freaking impressed. Play some well mixed tracks and you will be in love. I'm also picky about aesthetics since I don't have a studio, these sit on my desk at home. The S6's are ridiculously big (imagine the 8's are even more ridiculous) but the sound they produce just wins me over, stopped caring about how much space they take up as soon as I heard them. I've bought and sold quite a few speakers but Sceptre's are too damn good to even consider selling. Hope that helps!

To answer my own question, they luckily dont use 130W. They use about 25W for the pair. Adam T5V however uses only 1W per speaker at typical volume. So T5V are definitely the more suitable ones for keeping on 24/7. These are measure values, not theoretical.

Zeos do you think these would sound different when used with an audio-interface? Given that these are powered studio monitors, producers will be connecting those to their audio-interface. According to some producers as well, most audio-interfaces are superior to most commercial dacs/pre-amps. For example, motu 2x2, audient id4, and SSL2 come to mind (maybe even focusrite scarlet, or presonus).

Well in my opinion in the shop the tannoy gold concentric driver series 5" was a better speaker I'm surprising you didn't go for that. The 7 or 8 you can get away without a subwoofer. Why did you take the rebel amp video down

Bellamoli Riccardo hey man, thanks for the response. i have actually picked up a pair of the eris5 XTs. for anyone who’s considering the XTs they have a very subtle buzz when no audio playing but only because they’re next to a powered monitor (screen). when the screen is off there’s no buzz :)

I bought the E5s and my dumb ass thought it would be a good idea to get xlr to 3.5 adapter please don’t do that all you get is static shit and not that great stereo imaging get an audio interface the PreSonus ione is the interface I have it’s pretty good.

filip krstevski electrically there is no difference between the XLR and the TRS connections... both balanced. The RCA is, of course, is unbalanced. For short cable runs it doesn’t matter, but for longer cables or when weaving betwixt sources of potential interference, balanced wins for noise rejection.

E5 are build like you stole them from an army warehouse - very reliable. Nice mid-bass speaker design. Love this color. The only bad thing about them that the frequency responce doesnt go as low to sub bass as JBL. So when E5 plays sounds below 60 hz sometimes it sounds like an unpleasant humm for me.
