This is actually a pretty good tour. What is very important to note is that Universal Control is needed, and it makes the microphone hardware essentially your DAC. If you're toggling between applications (I juggle multiple DAWS) it's better to make your source decisions here for everything, at least when in mix mode. I wish it had an extra port and an A-B switch to toggle between phones and speaker monitors. (Hint.)

Still watching your review this is wonderful. I just bought my mic yesterday when I returned the AKG. The Revelator sounds really good. I have an HP Latop I bought my mic to use it with OBS since I'm still learning my mic IS THERE A WAY I can also hear my background music with headphones or not. Very impressive -- I just ordered it from Sweetwater. Question: If you customize the settings in the software -- like EQ, Compression and Gate -- is that info "stored" on the mic, so that those settings will be applied if you later plug into a computer that does not have the special software? (Seems a big ask, but I thought I heard that about either this mic, or another with similar functions.)

Hey, Dan! Great question. You can save the preset when using the software and save up to four presets on to the mic itself (plus an additional 8 into the software). I am very interested in this usb condenser mic. I am looking for a usb condenser microphone I can record drum covers using drumless tracks from my iTunes library. Does the onboard interface have recording capabilities? If it does not have recording capabilities is there a way for me to use the usb microphone directly into my iPhone 11 or iPad using an OTG adapter? I most likely with need a powered USB hub. Great question! The Revelator has two loopback inputs that can be used with the included Studio One artist software or any DAW. It is also relatively straightforward to use with Zoom, though. Cool concept but both of mine have a lovely 60Hz hum only on either of my MBPro laptops but not my Mac mini. If I unplug the wall wart from my MBPros the hum goes away. Also found it had to stay on the table stand. I had to make sure the side screw was nice and tight. If it wasn’t tight I could wiggle the USBC and I get nasty crackling and that lovely 60Hz ground hum. Which means the threaded bottom mic stand adapter is useless if i have to keep the table stand attached. How dumb would that look on camera. So my thought is that when it works it sound very nice BUT the handling noise Is awful. Don’t try to press buttons on the mic when it’s “live”. I don’t understand why they didn’t put a better solid body with better handling noise especially if you need to turn the volume up or down. I’m probably sending this back to the store and wait for Shure to make one.

@@j.rozman7016 This Revelator mic is outstanding and it's onboard processing would certainly come in handy (especially if you dial in a preset for recording your guitar), but I'm not sure if it would work with a phone. Hey, Michael! No, technically you can’t use 2 Revelator mics within that software at once. Reason being, it’s extremely convoluted to run multiple USB microphones within one computer at a time, as your computer will have to choose one or the other of those USB inputs to receive audio input. So, with that being said, if you’re wanting to run multiple microphones at once, you may want to look into some XLR microphone options. Hey, Mark. Thanks for reaching out, it's Mickey from Sweetwater! After a bit of research, it appears that you can only assign a single audio output feed from the Zoom conference as a whole. However, you are able to assign multiple applications to one of the 3 stereo "virtual" playback channels on the Presonus Software, which can be assigned to channels in StudioOne. It has such a great feature, but only one thing I'm concerning is that there is a rumble sound when you touch it(to push a button, or when the interviewer hits the table). I wonder how much HPF can cover it. You can feel exactly same thing in presonus PX-1, which is a great mic but there is a huge rumble on low end when you touch it. It will be much better if Presonus can fix those on next products.

Hello, George! Thanks for reaching out, it's Mickey from Sweetwater! The mic is capable of 110dB SPL, so it would be possible to record most guitar amps without issue. In terms of how it would sound, that would vary on what you were looking to get out of it. Keep in mind there are dozens (and arguably hundreds) of mics that are synonymous with guitar cabinet micing, and what you find ideal may not be the same for another person. From what I can glean from the manuals and other posted stats is that the mic needs the control software to access the parameters, meaning you would not be able to alter settings without it. Thanks for your interest! The mic is compatible with android and you can plug in directly with USB-C to record. The control software isn't available for Android, so you will have to load any presets on to the mic using a PC or Mac before recording on your phone. Yep, you can! The volume knob controls the overall headphone volume by default. You can press that knob to mute the mic and still hear the computer audio or if you press the monitor button you can use the volume knob to control the blend between the mic and computer audio. Yes i have this mic i. Use it on. My ipad exclusively. I connect it to my computer to set up the compressors and Eq, ect. Inside FatChannel inside the Revelator software then i save my presets to the mic. So when i go mobile recording i have the DSP to have the vocal processed through Presonus Channel Srip as I record to BeatMaker 3, Auria Pro, ect. Its the best!

After watching your video I purchased the Revelator. Does it do all they say and sound as good? Yes! However, there are some issues. The microphone housing is very sensitive to touch, so much so that using any of the front controls buttons results in undesirable noise. Touching the table, moving the headphones cable or touching the usb cable is as audible as taping on the microphone. Using the mute button causes a pop that is not heard when muting using the software. Because of this I feel the front buttons are unusable during a broadcast and the if you move around to much your headphones cable will mess up your audio audio well. Presounus needs to isolate the diaphragm from the rest of the unit.
