19:00 Actually, in Olimar's notes he explains that Louie was always told by the President of Hocotate Freight to follow Olimar's example and do exactly what he does. So Louie tries to turn people into Leaflings because he took it too literally and that's what Olimar did as a Leafling (this also implies that Louie recognized that it was Olimar the whole time, unlike the Rescue Corp. who couldn't lol).

After playing on my main save enough, I got a conversation where the Rescue Corps asks Olimar why Louie did what he did, and Olimar explains it the same way in the log, where he says that Louie was probably just doing what he saw Olimar do while Olimar was a Leafling.

Here's a cool challenge idea for Pikmin 2. There are 4 areas in the game, and for each area, you choose one pikimin color you will use there. For example, you choose blue pikmin for the perplexing pool as there's mostly water. So, you can only use the one type you chose in one area. Your goal is to gather as many treasures as possible. This makes choosing the color for the areas part of the challenge as you have to think of the best way to get as many treasures as possible. You don't have to do it but I think it would be quite interesting. Nevertheless, your videos are awesome, I enjoy them very much. Keep up the good work. Your dandori is impressive.

i think in a challenge run for being limited to a certain type of pikmin, the use of oachi should be limited to things like his rush and whistle ability and maybe riding him (basically just treat him as a second captain). using him to circumvent things the pikmin can't otherwise do feels like it's not really a challenge run, it's just a more tedious run. i do love all this pikmin content from this channel though so please keep making more!

He didn't specifically say that they were, and I think it was around when he first talked about glow Pikmin it showed a screen with I think four reds lost. Same for later on when he mentions the time reversal thing to save Pikmin, shows he lost one and he implies that he did in fact just leave the Pikmin to die.

Fun fact. Once you get Dingo, in Dandori battles, all you need to do is restart it once and Dingo will offer to clear it for you. Technically that's not using any other Pikmin, soooo i think the Dandori battles shouldn't count anyway. Basically you just got more playtime out of your game is all.

Louie’s behavior in this game makes a lot more sense when you consider that due to the rebooted timeline this is his first time on PNF 404, and unlike Pikmin 2 where Olimar and the ship kept him in check during the mission and the one time he was away from them he got captured and was used as a power source for a giant bug, and later he tries to leave when he thinks he was kiddnapped in Pikmin 3. In Pikmin 4 Louie has no such incidents happen and is only seeing PnF 404 as a playground with so much food to eat. If this was Louie from Pikmin 2-3 he’d probably way more willing to cooperate with the rescue corp.

I know I'm a little late to the punch, but you actually CAN rescue the castaway in the Last Frost Cavern without using any ice pikmin (or any pikmin at all). If you put a treasure between Oatchi and the icy blowhog, you can use Oatchi's charge to push it a little at a time. If you push it all the way over the hydrojellies, its breath does in fact freeze the hydrojellies and you can grab the castaway. It takes a lot of time and the icy blowhog loves to walk into corners where you can't push it anymore, but I've done it myself so I can verify that it would work. I believe this would make 2p completely unnecessary if you were willing to grind bombs for the night expeditions.

Actually Oatchi can do all Pikmin tasks, including pushing boxes to make ramps, so you didn't need to bring pikmin up onto the ledge. Unless you couldn't get oatchi close to the box because of the wall.

I've attempted this challenge in Olimar's shipwreck tale and found it to be difficult. It requires the use of a large number of ice blasts since moss never gains the ability to carry treasure underwater. Something weird also happens when you get to HH with just reds.

At first Oatchi can’t guard the lumiknolls so Patricia was necessary, and even when Oatchi does learn to guard he can’t solely fight off all the enemies that come without dying

One thing to note is Pikmin 4 is not in the same timeline as pikmin 1, 2, and 3 when it comes to story beats. It's a soft reboot of the story using elements from all 3 wrapped into one, so this is Olimar's first visit to PNF-404, and Louis hasn't put Hocotate into bankruptcy with his pre meditated consumption of the carrots.

ok... next challenge beat the game with only oatchie? (and patricia) rules: the aqua wraith is fine (proved it's possible, if you can do the trick, awesome! but don't go crazy trying) and you can use pikmin for carrying any item that oatchie can (just to save time on having to wait for him to carry every single item himself) i'd like to see if you can beat the dandare (sp?) battles with just oatchie... but speedrunners have also proven you don't need to do any of them (there's a trick to just skip all of them/get the game to auto win) so if you can't... then it's not a big deal. idk this game too well... and the '15 pikmin you need for the final boss's tail' might be a problem. but i'm still curious to see how much you can do with just pik doggo also yes... someone really... REALLY needs to lock up loui...
