Same with all trades these days, you could contact half a dozen trades people to invite to come and quote for a job and you'll be lucky if by the end of the whole ordeal one actually turns up on the agreed time and date to carry out the job.

I think is a Cambridge thing. Here in London I can always get someone. I have a sibling in a Cambridge village and it is completely different - there are not the vast numbers of tradesmen we have in London (never had so many people moving to the UK and most want to be in London in 2024!) and Cambridge is booming as a City with loads of house building going on so I think that must be the reason.

Sometimes it doesn't matter if your "not a builder", if you have a skill. The owner has something they badly need done and you can do it, without a whole new round of finding and hiring someone else. Using a walker, his walking safety would be of high importance. On the power washing, glad you came up with a workable solution for all the pot moving. Enjoyed the bit of practical history, in being able to recognize an old type of paving and that it would take visiting a recycling type yard to find any needed replacements. (Couldn't tell from the video that there was a lot of Black Spot, until you did a close-up. Normally can note that and lichen. Thought it was just a lot of years of wear-and-tear/staining perhaps.) With the XJet, that place is looking lovely. What a nice result to have just as Spring starts and to set-off the home and yard. The microphone failure didn't matter, though I enjoy hearing your discussions of what you are doing. The before and after pictures showed how well it turned-out. Thank you for helping the elders.

What a lovely home and property! That's such a spacious paved garden space - they are lucky to have found you to make it safe and beautiful for them! And it looks spectacular! I, of course, don't know you and it's silly, but I feel so proud of how you treat your customers. You do your best to carry out their wishes and let them know up front if you can't. You're respectful and kind and genuinely concerned for people and that makes you a truly good person. I have to say, when you started moving those plants around, my first thought was, "Oh, good! He's going to move a couple and clean and move them back. Then he'll do the same with the next 2-3." When I saw you start moving them all and mixing up the order, I thought, "I hope he took a few photos so he knows where they go!" It also crossed my mind that maybe you could play the footage back to see where they went. 😂😂 Doesn't matter - they guided you through it and I know they had to be thrilled with how their home looks now! If you go back to fix that sloped, concrete corner area, please do a video. I'd enjoy seeing how you approach that job. Have a wonderful week, Nick!
