Here in south western New Hampshire, USA there’s a rhododendron park. It has them as cultivated(which stay smaller) and then most that are allowed to grow wild. The parke is more now a forest, because rhododendron can become an actual 30 to 40 foot tree. I never knew this until I found this place. It is absolutely beautiful to see. It’s about 300 acres of park, with many trails and paths meandering about. The park started as a private land for a family way back in the 1930s so there was a home on the property. As time went by the family continued to maintain both elements of cultivated and wild plantings and growth of the land. There are a few other trees scattered about, but mostly rhododendrons. In the 1970s the land was willed of to the parks and recreation’s department of New Hampshire. There’s a suggested entry fee for the forest to help maintain the paths, trails, one road and other stuff like signs and markings of trails. The place is at its best when in full bloom mid June into early July, which can be altered by a colder and longer winter. With all that said, I love the idea that you have put them on the property of the chateau and will let them grow wild.

I could understand the driver's reluctance having a big truck make your turn though the gate is not always the same experience and a small change in the set-up on the truck can make a massive difference in the way it will maneuver. I have also delivered nursery stock in the U.S. and sometimes got put into that situation with a sleeper truck and 53' refrigerated trailer. Things that you the property owner can do to help: Don't say "We get trucks like yours in here all the time", Give the driver room- if you can widen the gate by sliding a pin out, then do that the morning of delivery, if you can widen the road on the side away from the wall that will help make the turn easier and less sharp

The language on the side of the truck is Danish - "Sammen finder vi vej til de gode madoplevelser - Coop - sammen om bedre mad" (Together we find the way to the good food experiences - Coop - Together for better food), but the rear is in French: "Cristin Company - Sériosité et confiance" (Seriousness and confidence), and the truck is registered in Belgium (which admittedly fits with the French text)...???
