The Leslie Odom Jr. appreciation in this video is so strong that I have to tell this story... In 9th grade, when I was in a huge Hamilton phase, my English teacher told me that she was going to see Leslie perform somewhere in Maine, and I got super jealous because I immediately knew I couldn't go. So, my teacher told me to draw Aaron Burr so she could give it to Leslie after the performance. The day after, my teacher told me she gave Leslie the drawing, and he wrote this in the little booklet, "I loved my drawing, Abby. You're so talented! XO - Leslie" A lot of people see Leslie Odom Jr. as a singer, an actor, or Aaron Burr, but I see him as a really talented guy that liked my drawing. I felt so complete and happy!! EDIT: Yo! I just graduated from high school, and as a present, my mom and I are gonna see Hamilton in November!!! This is my first time going to Broadway! Even though I'm out of my Hamilton phase, and even if the original cast isn't gonna perform, it's still super exciting!! It's gonna be a bizarre but fun nostalgia trip to be sure! EDIT 2: HOLY SHIT I FORGOT TO UPDATE THIS AFTER I SAW IT, but hey I still saw it! It was great! Everybody looked like they were having such a good time on stage, and even if there was a flub or a laugh from a cast member or two, but they just kept going and kept it professional! I think if I was much younger and was able to see it live, I would have loved it much much more, but it was still a fun time nonetheless. That's all from me!

15:11 - Hamilton had said before he said MacBeth, “I trust you understand this reference to another Scottish Tragedy without my having to name the play” meaning he said the name MacBeth rather than the show. Which is apparently different because it only counts if you directly say the name of the play rather than the character MacBeth. Pretty interesting tbh.

time for my favorite hamilton story: when i got the insane privilege of seeing it live on tour, there was an old lady in front of me who clearly couldn’t hear well. it was completely fine, we could just hear the person next to her explaining the show to her every now and then. completely fine, except: in the silent moment of wait for it right before it explodes into sound, with all the tension in it, the old lady said very loudly “WHO IS THAT ONE?” and i about pissed myself laughing.

Phillipa's in black because in the scene, she's supposed to have just returned from Peggy's funeral, and she actually started crying after her scream, so that part isn't actually acting; it's partially why she kept her head down.

The Macbeth lore is where you can't say the show title, but you can say the character name. Which is what makes the line "I trust you'll understand to another Scottish tragedy with out me having to name the play, they think me Macbeth...." so brilliant.

Despite Burr's expression and some of his lyrics in the musical, he actually never regretted shooting Hamilton. He thought he deserved it.
@chiannegibbs94623 жыл бұрын
But didn’t Burr actually say he should have known the world was wide enough for the both of them. That sounds like regret to me?
@Xar1a3 жыл бұрын

@AlexCorporations2 жыл бұрын
Burr actually tried to have the state of New York secede from the union because he didn’t like Jefferson and some of the other founding fathers that much. Burr was a technically a domestic terrorist by sheer definition and then died on a boat fleeing the US to see his daughter. If anything Eliza is probably one of the most important side characters because a lot of American history would be lost if not for her efforts, monuments would’ve never been built, many stories would’ve remained forgotten. Hell, she set up an orphanage, was fighting for the abolition of slavery, raised multiple children of her own, along with many other things. She and a few of our early First Ladies (Mrs.Adams to be specific), helped keep our history and stories alive through their hard work. Sorry for the tangent, I just really find it interesting how without a few of these amazing women, so many more people would have suffered and many more could have been suffering today.
