I do 2 treatments. The first one is in mid June using Grub Ex. The second one is end of August/early Sept using Bioadvanced (dylox). Might be overkill, but it's worth it. Put in a lot of work and extra $$$ with irrigation, fertilizer, soil amendments and watching it get ruined sucks - happened to me a few years ago. GrubEx is preventative and Bioadvanced is curative...even if I don't see any damage, the little bastards are still there so I want them dead. Haven't had any problems since, even though there have been heavy beetle populations and I've seen several other lawns with problems.

Scotts Grubgone in Canada and Anderson's organic grub treatments are Bacillus Thurgenisis galleriae the same family of Bt as used for grubs in fruit trees and vegetable gardens. Three windows of opportunity to apply are on the label, the most typical at the time of egg laying but unlike nematodes this will kill larger grubs too. Water it in just as you said, the grubs need to eat it to die so some additional watering around application time keeps the grubs near the surface and active. In the US a liquid called Beetlegone is also available.

I used to have grubs late summer with dead patches of lawn, now I do my June treatment and no more issues. Benefit is if there’s yellow patches I know it’s probably disease, which is a different issue.

I started to bermuda lawn about a year ago and its been a struggle and a big learning curve. Lots of work and not great progress to be fair. These vids help. Any tips for helping the lawn fill in? @@juniorrealtordavesoffice2435 water and fertilizer. Bermuda spread by stolens, so if you can grab a couple of plugs from good areas of turf, you can plant them in the thin spots.

You can. Bag states from Spring to Fall and provides up-to 4 months of control.

I was edging my garden and there were 5 grubs in a 1sqft area of my lawn. Would it be wise to apply bio advanced 24 hr grub killer plus now and then apply the grubex in a couple of weeks to prevent for the upcoming months Or would that be overkill? I’ve heard to not worry about the grubs I see in spring and to just stick to grubex application but it makes me nervous.

If it were me, I would apply the 24-hr killer and follow-up with the grubex later.

You could practice Integrated Pest Management and hold off if you’ve never had issues. If you see a lot of beetles flying around, you might want to consider it. If you see grubs in late summer/early fall, it’s not necessarily the end of the world, but if you see many grubs (like 10 or more per square foot) you might want to consider taking immediate action.
