I'm so glad that moment has been so impactful to people who weren't expecting it. In the campaign it was almost as much of a gut punch as the Sun Tree. Everyone, Taliesin included, had sort of assumed the blank barrel was for Percy. So when Matt dropped that, it was a BIG blow.

Couple fun facts about how this went down in the campaign: The fight in the de Rolo tomb was not against some basic undead, but against some sort of wraith things that could possess people. Scanlan happend to finish one with a Vicious Mockery, which lead to this exchange: Percy: Which one of my ancestors did you just _shame_ to death?!? Scanlan: The one that was just possessing you. Percy: That's fair. That bit with the acid trap: Vax did manage to get through the glass (by using a magic item he doesn't have in the show) and then promptly pushed the big friendly button on the other side assuming it was an 'open door' button. Of course it turned out it was an 'acid on' button instead. And then he got mind controlled.

Regarding the acid trap, I can't remember anything special about the floors, but IIRC the doors were Residuum infused glass. Which is why they were able to stand up to Grog and Pike and the acid. It's been awhile though so don't quote me. There are several times throughout the campaign when Tal will say something vaguely sciencey like, "I grab the raw sodium...", and then He'll give Matt a look and be like "you know what happens when I do this right?" Not to go into too much detail about her backstory but, she's a Tiefling who was adopted by Human nobles as an infant. As she grew up she began to feel disconnected from her culture and guilty over her place of privilege. Her goal is to help others find their roots by forcing aristocracy across the nation to return artifacts to their native people. Her tactics are generally persuasion first, stealing if necessary.
