Many UK or USA influencers over the past year or so have been pushing the new trend for partial or fully integrated front-end cable routing. They know full well that the downsides to this greatly outweigh any upsides and sometimes make a begrudging acknowledgement to the fact. One UK influencer began insisting that full integration was what customers wanted and put a poll on Instagram for half a day, got a positive result admittedly, and then published it as proof, thus perpetuating the myth. I'm no luddite and welcome anything that improves the cycling experience but I've had enough of this trend and the marketing surrounding it.

The power of marketing is huge - I wouldn't be surprised if most "instagram followers" did really vote for the internal routing. Doing the replacement/service or paying a higher price for the same work (compared to external routing) may not be enough to change everyone's mind - the power of marketing is that big IMO.
