What you have to understand is that it is a tense situation no matter how big of a meal it could possibly be. Lion prides will still fight each other off assuming that this will be the only meal they'll have for days. And lions don't have to just worry about other prides as much as they have to fight off hyenas, and hyenas don't play nice with anyone, to the point that they regularly bully off lion prides, attack and mob them, and even maul to death any lion unlucky enough to cross them at the wrong time. Then eat them. Everyone, all of them, are constantly under stress, all the time. A free meal just means they have to worry about every other predator or scavenger who smells it from miles away who are also, again, assuming it will be their only meal for days.

It's good to see the nharu pride, with the red road king. These lions are so resilient. To survive in these harsh condition. With the support her family, the female will heal as did the red road king. But I do hope it's not serious. I have seen a video where a female took several adolescents away from the pride because of a take over by other males. She hunted for the adolescents because they were too young and inexperienced to hunt. One day while hunting she was so focused on the chase that she ran into a sharp tree limb that pertruding from the side of a tree stump. It gouged and tore at least a 10 inch cut on the inner thigh of her back leg. I thought she was dead and the adolescents were going to starve or be killed by other predators. She licked her wound and continued to hunt for the cubs until they were mature enough to take care of themselves. That's dedication.

Yeah. That’s what I was wondering. How did it end up there when it was found on the side of the road? The lions probably smelled the unfamiliar scent of humans from handling the carcass and were reluctant to eat it for fear it may be unsafe. I also wonder if they can smell an illness from a dead animal and may be reluctant to eat it for that reason too. Red Road didn’t look to have eaten any of the giraffe. Interesting.

A rare scenario that could work is for them to remain together for another 1 or 2 years, then RRM & the Male subs form Coalition, establish another territory, & seek other Prides similar to the Mapogos dominated by the senior brother Makhulu who raised the younger ones who respected & loved him dearly. By that time the female subs will be safe to stay with the Pride.
