A video obtained by Reuters shows Yevgeny Prigozhin, chief of the mercenary Wagner Group, being greeted by locals as he left Rostov-on-Don in the back seat of a car late on June 24. Supporters gathered around Wagner tanks and trucks withdrawing from the Russian city following a brief mutiny.

So many Wagner supporters, yet they need to drag prisoners to do the actual fighting
@MrJdsenior
@MrJdsenior 10 ай бұрын
They weren't being used to fight, really. They were more being used to be pushed forward into the killing zone to expose Ukrainian artillery positions to then be targeted. And unfortunately it was entirely to effective a strategy, if you don't give one damn about your fellow citizen's lives. And it was not remotely just prisoners they were doing this with. It is disgusting. It is Russian...always has been.

They humiliated Putin and the MoD , got out of Ukraine alive with the 25000 men and shot down 7 aircraft in less than 24 hours. That is quite an achievement , never mind any extra payment they got for leaving quietly .

Oh, they very much DID do something. The point of forcing them to stay in Bakhmut for so long and maybe even holding back ammo (or was the Prig just hoarding ammo for this eventuality?) was to massively attrit, or even end them. Wagner was mined, attacked, and threatened all the way out of Bakmut. Prig knew where he stood. Now he stands with full pardon, him and Wagner, and has made Putin look like an absolute spineless, weak fool. WHO brings in a president from another country to negotiate with people you have deemed terrorists? Another serious WTH from Russia. Every time I've seen the most stupid insane action They can think of, they top it. They will top this, too. Prig isn't a rocket surgeon but he's smarter than Putin and his two goons put together. Example: putting trucks across the road with slashed tires to stop Wagner...OMG...that's what they came up with? They might as well have peed in the road. It probably SPED the ingress UP, because the tank driver probably hit the gas so that he wouldn't have to hit the 'roadblock' twice to clear all of it. It's like Grr and Goo thought they were dealing with some teenager in a stolen car. If Prig had succeeded, I think things would have been FARRR worse, so I for one, am glad he didn't. I am glad though, that he made Putin and his govt look like weak, stupid, fools, once again. This was a BIG negative for Putin and his standing with the Russians.

All that excess of thanks for Prigozhin in Russia actually gives me some hope, in one respect, and that is that that action indirectly speaks to the fact that many Russians are NOT on Putin's side. I'm betting he was literally sweating and shaking in his boots. In that 'forceful' address he made, he looked a lot like a deer in the headlights. It was pathetic. And bringing in a president from another country to negotiate with what you have deemed terrorist, and acceding to some of their demands? That speaks totally of cowardice and weakness. What a shocker...not. I wasn't a fan of Prig succeeding, because he is even more evil, brutal, and about 1000X smarter than Putin, Gerasimov, and Shoygoooo put together. I expect those three IQs added together still might be in the double digit domain.

I realize there’s that one video of him leaving in an SUV but does anyone actually know for sure that this guy is still alive? I mean, would you trust a promise of “safe parlay” from Putin and/or Lukashenko? It just feels like some major facts are to missing, and the simplest explanation I can think of is that they guy’s already dead-though it maybe more complex than that.

Look at the peripheral aspects of this one moment. Russians in general are ripe for another 1917, 20 years of the same propaganda and a war with a failing economy has its affects, and then getting separated from the rest of the world and seeing all the nice trappings of modern society disappear adds another log to the smoldering fire. Does this mean putler is done today even though pmc didn't go all the way, no. But the writing is on the wall and putler is on borrowed time while surrounded by incompetent inner circle that feeds putler what he wants to hear and suppress what they know he doesn't want to hear. Since the beginning of the war I have seen nothing but parallel lines after parallel lines with the 1930s and 40s. moscow is looking more and more like Berlin and putler is the contemporary hitler. Every day, week and month that goes by the more putler and his inner circle are closer to becoming a page in the history books. But are the people of russia ready to finally learn from repeated mistakes and really improve?
@MrJdsenior
@MrJdsenior 10 ай бұрын
"But are the people of russia ready to finally learn from repeated mistakes and really improve?" So far they DEFINITELY are not. The only ones protesting now, save a few very brave smokers, are people headed to the front, where they have absolutely NOTHING to lose. I am amazed at what the Partisans have accomplished in Russia, though. In Russia they don't put you in jail for that, they torture you to death, slowly, in as painful a manner as possible. Think death of a thousand cuts, times 1000. I originally wrote some excellent examples and then thought better, as YT doesn't like that, apparently, and probably for good reason, considering who might be reading it, so I guess I can't argue with that policy. I wrote back to a Russian bot pulling zero punches and got a warning, which I wouldn't care about, save the reasoning behind it was sound...rare for YT. There is a new train stopped, or military or support installation on fire at least every couple of days, and the pre-known lethally ineffective pop over the Kremlin dome was VERY MUCH a statement, just in the fact that it got there and pulled it off. What it said was, basically, if we want to do this with something that would obliterate that dome and half of the Kremlin, we could. And then the rooves around the Kremlin bristled with FARRR more AA/AM, so cowardly little six inch lifts POOTler DEFINITELY got the message, loud and clear.

That will only happen if they can garner significant support and recruits. I am DEFINITELY pulling for them to accomplish that. Prig taking over may have been worse, the freedom fighters, at least in their rhetoric, have absolutely the right idea for a new govt structure. People say a lot, especially when there are riches beyond belief at stake, I can only hope that they are sincere and follow through, if they succeed. I'm not convinced that Navalny is any type of savior for Russia either, but who knows? Right now he has zero power to do anything, other than trying to stay alive. I've seen a few people step into that role since Gorbachev followed Brezhnev (more or less, there were three years of two clowns), and Gorbachev was the only one remotely trying to lead Russia in the right direction. Unfortunately, next came a useless drunk, Yeltsin, and then Putin. Also unfortunate, just like Ukraine, is that when the vacuum was filled during the move to capitalism at secession, it was filled by the equivalent of the Mafia, and most everybody wanted their cut (rampant bribery to even cross bridges, and the like) and they are STILL trying to rid themselves of that, totally. They are still trying to rid themselves of Russian style corruption at the higher levels of govt all the way down, too, and have accomplished a LOT of it, but there is still some way to go.
