Be real, they die and Russians will never lose. With TIME they solved Turkish drones, HIMARS, Stinger...everything. They have better possition, knowledge and less loses and with time Ukraine have less support, weapons and soon it will all stop. I don't have to say there is another front. Just curious. But do thermals work for detecting anti-tank mines? They're big, they have a lot of mass, and they're in the sun all day and they change temperature at a different rate than the ground around them. So would a drone flying overhead with a flir be able to see them since most of them are apparently just dropped on the ground?

My guess is the big anti tank mines, while a problem for the counter offensive, will not be the biggest problem afterwards. They're big and you don't set them off by stepping on them, especially if you're just a child. What will be a HUGE problem afterwards will be the smaller anti person mines that are small, hard to spot, and can be set off easily.

Its tough as well as the ruscist vermin very often house their anti-personnel mines in plastic, hard to detect. They also have mines housed in what appears to be a plastic bag that almost resemble an MRE bag that someone might just pick up to throw away. Ukraine will be many years and many deaths clearing their nation of ruscist trash even well after the war is won.

Bombs from ww2 can still be found here and there often. Those are villages, cow or horse, or agricultural machines can start big ones. After wars there are mines for a life time and if this cluster bombs will be used, that will be real problem. Where NATO used them, like Kosovo, even their trained personal was killed by those that don't explode

Despite heavy losses, the Ukrainian military command is again preparing new forces to throw them on Russian positions. After a months of futile bloody offensive operations, Kiev urgently needs to show some victories on the battlefield to please its Western patrons. In recent weeks, the Ukrainian military has been pulling reserves up to the southern frontlines, transferring them closer to the front by small parts under the cover of night. These are units that did not take part in the first stage of the offensive, including the so-called “Offensive Guard”.
