It had a bunch of new content including new dress spheres, Creature Capture, and *an entire sequel called FFX-2: Last Mission*. But the menus were entirely in Japanese so I'm sure very few English players ever tried or knew about it. That content was included in the recent remaster, making it widely available to western audiences for the first time

@John Marston Thank god you're not in charge on defining the word "Gamer". It doesn't matter if you play MMOs, RPGs, FPSs, ... or if you play on PC, console, smartphone, ... or if you just play story, get all trophies or even grind to the extent shown in the video. If you play a game, you're a gamer. And just because YOU don't like grinding it doesn't mean others do it because of an addiction. Different people enjoy different things. And no, i'm not denying that there aren't addicts, i just hate the "A TRUE gamer only does this and that"-mentality you're showing.

@John Marston I know what you mean and i agree, i also had my time where i was quite addicted to a game. The two reasons i was so harsh in my first comment: -You literally said "People who grind aren't gamers. They are addicts..." you generalized every little grind as being addicted to the game. But you even said yourself now "...i do love a good grinding session..." -You judged this guy as being a media addict. How come? Do you know him? Maybe he has a normal life, job, family and does this in his spare time and not 24/7?

@John Marston I have a perfectly normal and healthy life, My social life is also perfectly fine (well as fine as it can be in 2020) i have released 6-7 overpowered videos in just under 2 years, i wouldnt call that "often" and youtube is my job. spending 8 hours a day grinding for these videos is no different to somebody going into a call centre and answering the same call all day for 8 hours. The fact you assume i have an "addiction" is laughable, i make these because so many people enjoy them just as it shows with the recurring joke about seeing a shrink/exorcist because thats all that got commented on my first few videos. you took a problem you had and an addiction you had and put that label onto everybody. and also, before you comment about the string of weekly friday uploads im doing currently, maybe notice the the giant gap between this video and my last overpowered. ive been preparing for this weekly upload schedule all year.

@UCChsSQ3pEFtW1b_eJPYji_Q I am a gamer. I love grinding. When I'm feeling nostalgic, I go back and grind through ffx, ffx2 of FFvii just because. I have no mental issues, I know this as a fact because my mom was the kind of crazy that wanted her kids to have issues so she could have attention. Nothing wrong in this noggin! I go to work for 8 hours, then come home and hangout with my cat. Every 2ish weeks, more often if we can manage, I hang out with my friends. Sometimes we see a movie, or go to town. I have a decent social life. I grew up grinding video games. This game, ffx2, was my first 'big kid' game. My dad got it when I was 7 and I watched him play it till he let me when I was 10. And he told me I better fight all the monsters I can, otherwise I won't be able to beat angra mainyu at the end. He told the same thing to my younger brothers when they started playing games. That's just how I do games, and it isn't cuz of any mental issue. It's how I enjoy the game. For games as long and involved as ffx and x2, it feels nice to be able to run around and almost instakill the main villain. Heck, I played vii recently and pretty much destroyed sephiroth with knights of the round. Everybody games differently, and my way of gaming is grinding in rpgs like ff. If that's not how you game, you don't have to be rude (that's how it came across) and say that people that play differently are mentally ill. Enjoy the video and like it or find a video you do like, no need to make peeps like me feel bad.

Been waiting for this! In fact, I recently started playing it again on the PS3 just for the Creature Creator. I think you hit every high note possible on how to get grossly overpowered with creatures. I'd like to offer some extra wisdom for any player thinking about using the Creature Creator after seeing this video. While it is true you can't get Break HP Limit and Break Dmg Limit at the start (assuming this is a new game and not a NG+), there are a few monsters in Chapter 1 that carry Total Limit Break like Stalwart (in Kilika) and Adamantoise (in Calm Lands). The downside is that they are Large fiends so if you're okay of sacrificing two party slots in battle, then it is possible to reach 99,999 HP and exceed 9999 damage as well. For those that may not know and something that Primalliquid didn't mention, fiends do receive a level up bonus based on which DS they're equipped with. (Edit: This may not seem significant once you start farming for SS's but it does help alleviate the grind in some way) Out of the all dresspheres you can get in Chapter 1, Thief is the most broken. With Thief, you gain Agility and Agility is pretty much broken in this game when you combine Mug spamming and Quick Hit. For the rest of the DS's, you get the following stat bonuses: Warrior = Strength Black Mage = Magic White Mage = Magic Defense Songstress = Evasion Gunner = Accuracy Psychic = MP and Magic Defense Gun Mage = MP (if you do Tobli's mission in Chapter 1). Definitely avoid Festivalist. It raises nothing as far as I know. I could wrong but this seems to be the case on the PS3 version. Sadly, HP isn't available until Chapter 3 through Berserker and Trainer so you'll have to grind out Bangles like Primalliquid did with Machina Panzer. Or if you have the gil to expend, you can always buy Iron Bangles but that would be a slow alternative process. Interestingly while gathering Level 99 creature data, Red Elemental isn't the strongest element. Yellow Elemental (not to be confused with Gold Elemental) seems to have the better overall stats in terms of HP and Magic. That might be me but just something I noticed after I leveled up YRP to 99. Just some bugbear wisdom to pass on. Back to my cave. And again, awesome video Primalliquid! Edit: Did a quick test run on the PS3 and can confirm that Festivalist gives you no additional stat bonuses. As for the rest of the DS bonuses if you're on NG+: Dark Knight = Defense Lady Luck = Luck Trainer = HP and MP (not as significant as Berserker and Gun Mage but it's a good balance) Berserker = HP Alchemist = Accuracy Samurai = Evasion Mascot = No stat bonuses, similar to Festivalist.

You can save A LOT of time and make this far easier by: (I did all of this in about 96 hours, which should hopefully inspire people to try it out. The longest part is Shmooth Shailing farming.) (I would also like to mention that this is a well made video, my advice below is how to cut some corners.) 1: Jumping straight into the creature creator after Gagazet instead of doing the Besaid mission, because White Mage is useless. The only useful spheres are Thief and Mascot. 2: Just using the Chocobo, Divebeak, Recoil, and Flak Python right away, ignoring the Elemental and Tonberry. Just use the Chocobo, Recoil, and Flak Python until you win the Youth League Cup and Chocobo Cup several times, then filter the Chocobo out for the Divebeak and level it up with no hassle at all since the Recoil and Flak Python will easily carry it. 3: Skipping Shady Duo and Machina Panzer. Just buy Iron Bangles and Silver Bracers. You'll be making insane money by selling accessories and you can literally cap HP and MP in a few minutes. 4: Just sticking to the Abominable grid and Mascot sphere. It does the job and you'll never need to change. Until you get that, use First Steps and Thief. 5: Just getting to level 99, this saves more time and gives you a better baseline for Shmooth Shailing farming. Plus you'll be winning faster. 6: Skipping farming Elma, and all the lores/tomes. Trust me, it's not worth the hours for a few abilities. You just need Quick Attack, Meteor and Full Auto. Then you get Vigor, White Wind, and Full Life to prevent useless abilities popping up. I did put Darkness on the Chocobo because it helps a lot in the Chocobo Cup. BONUS! 7: Focus more on the Divebeak. It's Quick Attack absolutely destroys everything. I'm not kidding, most enemies die before my Recoil and Flak Python can even act. I've been having a lot of fun completing fiend tales for bonuses just by pairing every S and M fiend with the Divebeak for easy boosting.
@StevenJQuinlan Жыл бұрын

@@miirico5398 Essentially, the main team (YRP) has an average party level. Monsters captured tend to start out with a level around your average YRP level. The stories told by the monsters are all technically optional as they have no importance in a 100% run or the main story in general. You can unlock new arena fights, valuable items, and various mini games with completed monster stories. I personally would have still saved everyone and continued another play through to Bhuni as with any other game in the series. The timer forced me initially to have to replay just to explore more of the storyline. I think withholding the tiered spells and equipment along with the increase in difficulty was sufficient. I stopped at the attack on Kilika, because I had been doing a lot of grinding, trying to level up the unique spheres, and I ran into a situation where I was constantly fighting a Barbatos type enemy who I could not kill. Is X-2 a scales with the party game or was I just incredibly unlucky? I gave up after 3 hours.
@EarthPhantomTS8 ай бұрын
No, X-2 is not like VIII. Stalwarts (the enemy you're thinking of) just have the ability to reduce their target's HP to 1 with their basic attack. So you probably just got unlucky.

When I first got the game, I spent hours and hours trying to get op in the game. Then I got the FFX/FFX-2 remastered. Then I got the Psychic dressspehere and maxed it out. Now I realize just how powerful that specific dresssphere is. You could destroy the entire game with the Psychic dressspere and not run into any problem.
@Shirker124 жыл бұрын
You kinda inspired me to get a team of 4 Dark Knights in chapter 1 of Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions. Took forever, but it was worth it. I've always wanted to do it, but I finally sat down and grinded away. To anyone crazy enough to attempt it, 3 females (for dancer subclass), main character, and someone to heal as necessary. Obviously, you need JP up from the squire class, as well as the shout ability to easily farm JP without having to attack. After that, Tailwind, a Ramza exclusive squire ability that boosts his (or an allies) speed, can really increase your farming efficiency. By the time I was done, my characters were around level 70.

If you’re looking for new ideas, I have a couple. A long time ago in FF4, I powerleveled Child Rydia so much that she learned Meteo before you lose her on the boat. I remember tracking my progress then and it took me roughly a week of grinding. Another two are Shining Force and Shining Force II since you can easily OP and promote healers even in the first battles of those games. I’ve done it before multiple times, and boy is it satisfying, especially in II where later monsters hit you like frickin trucks. I love those videos, but try not to drive yourself insane doing them. :)

Healers would get 10 exp if they healed atleast one HP if I remember correctly. Used to "save scum" like crazy on the mobile and emulator versions for good level ups. Well besides on Hans since he just refused to get good gains on level ups.

Then I just put a toothpick in my controllers X button, set cursor to memory, 3 psychics (maxed out skills on miihen) rubber band the analog stick to make them run into the wall, came back after waking up, all 3 were level 99. Went and did the cups cheesing psychics dodge and null all mechanic to beat trema over and over for 6x iron dukes. All without finishing chapter 1 and about 5-6 hours of actual play time :P
