I personally love this optic. Glass is clear enough. The fov is fantastic. The red dot does not bloom so is great for my astigmatism. The optic only weighs 17oz. With practice you can be extremely fast with it. It is night vision compatible and the price is amazing! We are not all going to war/duty everyday so this fits my current needs perfectly.

I would agree, except iirc the Vortex has more durable scope housing. Wish primary arms could get some kind of ruggedizing method for their optics, something along the lines of trijicon, man that'd be crazy, I'd pay that premium, especially for ACSS

When PA dropped the 2023 Odyssey lineup they got it right. I went with NOVA and my reasoning for it was pure simplicity. Extremely clear glass, the red dot is definitely bright so there really is no reason to go to 11 unless what Mike said about high noon in AZ. PA came out with 4 models of Gen IV and it’s all about application. Do your research and find the one best for you and your particular application. PA has definitely stepped their game up in the optics world and it won’t disappoint. I threw the NOVA on my M4V7SLW it’s been nothing but FUN. Biggest factor of them all is price point, so if you don’t want to break the bank and want a solid LVPO you can’t go wrong with PA. Thank you Mike for the video. Stay frosty.

Ended up throwing this on a Remington 700 sps tactical and really enjoyed. Moved around the range pretty quickly but at 600 yards is about where the fun stopped without dialing. Had the red dot cut out intermittently, for now assuming it was the cap. Building a mid range precision rifle was the goal and this thing on the 700 executed perfectly.

I like your opinion on this optic, very similar to my experience, i shoot to 550 yards frequently, and without issue most of the time. The lack of wind holds doesn't really hinder me too much, but i do wish they were there. With the Aero mount, its lighter than some lpvos without the mounts, great budget option 👍

I have this optic mounted in a Reptilia AUS mount on my 16” BCM upper, and I love it. First of all it is bright as shit, I really have enjoyed using it for that alone. The only criticisms I would have is that the light transport and glass clarity at 5x and 6X is not as good as it could be. Also the dovetail that the throw level screws into overtime will loosen up and get a little wiggly, it doesn’t really affect function but still not ideal. Overall an amazing scope for the price.

Awesome scope. I did a side by side comparison with my Leupold VX-Freedom 1.5-4 that’s in the same price range. The PA is heavier and has a very slight fisheye effect compared to the Leupold, but the illumination and the added magnification are worth the extra weight. I think the simple reticle is an advantage for most. I don’t shoot long range very often and I just don’t like busy reticles.
@sfcrmsa

Yes Sir, I will agree with 'not liking busy reticles". That is my shooting. I am not long range, LEO or Military. For long range, I use a traditional scope so to speak. Just my style, but I do like to hear other's experience and how they get their work done.

Looks like a great hunting scope. I live a few miles from PA here South of Houston & they have the best customer service & lifetime warranty. I've been using there Gen 3 1x6x24 Gen 3. I was sold when I zero'd my rifle per PA's instructions at 100y & smoked many coyotes at 300+ yards using the hold over marks & lighted reticle for late evening hunting. Shot my 13pnt Buck at 200y last year straight through the heart with 55g Hornady HP's. All other deer were headshots within 100y 🤟

I’ve been thinking about looking at PA’s NOVA reticle scopes. I actually recently got their Classic Series 1-4x24 SFP Illuminated Duplex Dot because they had it on sale for $80-$90 and I figured it’d be good on a .22 rifle. There’s no BDC, of course, but the dot does get really bright and, for the price, I am impressed with the clarity of the glass. It is no smaller than their 1-6 LPVOs, but it would still be great on any PCC. Thanks for the NOVA review!

Agree that the PA Nova will do more than the great majority of users will ask of an LPVO. Brightness, reticle, eye box and price is great. Been running the PA Nova for 4 months on my main training rifle while I save up my money. Been training with this from 15 to 200 yards and it worked relatively well for me against those running $1500-$2000 setups. Limitations of the glass, etc only become apparent when moving to 300-400 yard silhouette targets in challenging light conditions, unsupported shooting positions and got the pressure of time.

I purchased this a few months ago to see if I would like LPVOs. Can say, the dot is bright as hell. I ran a class with it a few weeks ago outside in the Ga sun and had no issues. The glass is pretty clear to my untrained LPVO eyes. Glad I purchased it. Would recommend for someone looking to get into LPVOs on a budget or to try before you bump up to a scope that cost twice your rifle.

Had the SLx 1-8 for my AR15. Love it. Needed a scope for my AR10. Was planning on another 1-8, but saw the 1-6 Nova and decided to go for it on my 15, and move the 1-8 to my 308. Mainly want the 15 for CQB, which the Nova is great for. With both eyes open you can be way off axis and still get great shots. Not many LVPOs that can do that, especially in this price range. The 1-8 will still be good for CQB with my 309, but will also be good for longer range stuff. I agree that i wish the Nova had 5 and 10 mph standoffs at the various distances. Can't see any reason for them not being included in the radical, even if not illuminated.

@@Mrgunsngear btw, please tell PA to make a decently priced 1.7" scope mount. Only ones on the market I know of are really expensive for a mount(like Badger Ordnance Condition one mount). Yeah, they're really nice but $300 is more mount than I need but the 1.7" mount height feels really good with an lpvo unlike 1.93 which just feels ridiculous with an actual scope.

I don't care about "daylight bright dot" on an LPVO. I prefer the etched reticle. I run it at low illumination so that when it is a super bright target like the sun, the black works just fine and when you hover over to something dark it illuminates green or red. It saves battery as well. I wish the PA would make green reticle versions, I don't like red dots.

Thank you for an informative video. My question is given that it has a MIL reticle coupled with MOA adjustment, how can I marry the 2 together? Are their any links that you recommend that cover this subject? Lastly, I noticed that the mount they recommend (deluxe AR 15 scope mount) places the scope a bit high on a bolt action rifle (Savage 110 hunter) requiring additional cheek riser, which makes me wonder if the those mounts are not suitable for bolt action rifles.

I bought this scope and love it. I had heard that PA was considering adding the "shake awake" feature and that it could be retro-fitted by way of the battery cap. Have you heard or do you know anything about this? Thanks!

You going to review the 1-10 slx? I’m on the fence about it. I would like to see your input before I make my decision.

I've had mine about a month. I mounted it in a PA GLx mount and it's been a great scope. It's zeroed at 100 with AAC 77gr bthp. It get carried on a atv and tractor all over the ranch and still holds zero. I absolutely love it and will be getting another soon.

Im gonna call it right now that they are 100% working on including the donut with the next version. It just won't illuminate. They may even go after FFP but who knows. They love to cover every single price point tier

Not an AR video but I'd like to see you review the Q Sugar Weasel 16 inch in 5.56. Also the FN Guardian. Not a lot of good information out there on those rifles yet.
