This is my favorite Soundwave design and incarnation. I love the creepy thin design, the silent and inscrutable presence, the way he stays on the sidelines but you KNOW he could easily lead if he wasn’t so loyal to Megatron. Not that I dislike other versions of Soundwave, this one is just the best.

Prime Soundwave, I would have to say, is my FAVORITE design for Soundwave. or ANY Decepticon for that matter. He's right up there with Animated Shockwave, Powercore Combiners Undertow, and -Dare I say it- Revenge of the Fallen Devastator.

Cybertron Soundwave was the first Soundwave I knew, so I didn't know he spoke any different until I saw Animated. Needless to say, I now prefer his voice in G1 and Animated.

I'm from the middle school (Beast Era/Unicron Trilogy), and I really enjoyed this version of Soundwave (even having one on Cybertron, with a very interesting voice in the Japanese version). It's an embodiment of respect, and for those who are offended, just consider a parallel character (for example: in Armada we have an excellent Starscream, even though it's not the Starscream we're used to; the same for RID's Ultra Magnus: it's very different from the classic, and yet it steals the scene in its very peculiar way)

I like that beast hunters soundwave includes ravage, but for those interested I think that third party company X2 Toys has 2 more drones that fit this version of Soundwave, although the colors do not match the figure (only downside)

The toy really does capture the character from the show pretty, I actually liked this version of Soundwave more than G1. Especially since the one line he has in the show with his own voices is a taunt toward the Autobots.

Loved it Tj, I love this soundwave. I just picked up a collector owned full combiner wars Superion + Alpha Bravo and Quickslinger all together for 80 dollars, complete short of packaging, which I don't care about. I haven't been keeping up with combiner wars, Deadend is my first for around 20 dollars, which is insane, but how lucky did I get with Superion? I've seen other full sets for 130 on ebay, so maybe? The item description says Quickslinger is an online exclusive, but wiki says he's on the team normally, what's up with that?

The toy isn't bad, I absolutely love the Soundwave design, and the toy matches it remarkably well. What I dislike is what the spring neck feature causes. The head doesn't have the range it would if they had just given him a ball/socket hinge instead of a spring loaded gimmick, always having to look straight forward. It's just annoying, especially since the one I got had a spring so strong in it that the head could not be posed without a bad amount of forward pressure damaging it with indents, and bending. Loved the toy in all other areas, excluding the slight kibble behind the lower legs, but that spring gimmick keeps this from being on the same level as first edition Starscream, he is just a "Prime" example of how amazing the line could get.

He DOES have landing gear... The wheel is visible on the inside of Soundwave's right foot... MUCH more so on the Beast Hunters remold, since the wheel is black and the feet on that figure are cast in bright yellow plastic... :/

i know people either hate or loce the beast hunters remold, but i like it way more than the PRID version, though obviously is not accurate,, which, this version is, kinda, it is a good mold, actually all the repaints and remolds of this are actually good one way or another, and if you count that there is a "beast machines botanica" on one of the timelines comics, based on the beats hunters(which is actually a bit bulkier in both modes because of the hunter idea remolding) yeah, this actually works as a female XD

+Cassie Blackwood (Transgamergirl) Honestly, Prime's normal figures were amazingly well-engineered for the most part. They cheated a bit, but maintained show accuracy without being unplayable, Airachnid aside. First Edition Bulkhead still astounds me to this day simply because they turn a deluxe van into a voyager robot with the only price being he's a bit hollow.

Reaper Drone, not Predator. The tail fins give it away - Predator Drone, tail fins are angled down, Reaper Drone, tail fins angled upwards. :) I have both Deluxe class versions (Wave 1 and Beast Hunters) of him, and his "Mini Me" Legion class version. XD I also managed to track down the Takara version of him as well. Honestly, if I were going to ask you to review him, I'd say do a comparison between the three Deluxe class versions (Wave 1, Beast Hunters, and Takara). He is soooo not Plastic Addict worthy... He's a decent toy!

I never liked this design. Not simply because he's different. Like you I don't like the knees. I also don't like the thin proportions on him. It makes him look really fragile, as if he could easily break. Otherwise I don't really mind Soundwave at all. My biggest issue with him is not even about him, but about the fact that they named his drone Laserbeak. It looks more like a bat to me as such his name really should have been Ratbat. With his coloring and the sharp edges on his wings I always viewed him as Ratbat not Laserbeak.
