"Tim Duncan - Low Post Master" is a offense highlights compilation I made for the Greatest Power Forward Ever, Tim Duncan. It includes the very specific post moves in low post by Prime Tim Duncan (by prime I mean 1998 - 2003, which is before his knee injuries and Plantar Fasciitis), However, it did not cover many great offensive plays of him, for more plays, you can refer to my Tim Duncan Top 100 Plays.

And this video is basically inspired by Evin Gualberto's Tim Duncan - Postup Powerhouse, for his highlights, you may refer to:

While I love Duncan, even I can admit that after 2007 he was physically slower not by a lot but he was getting definitely getting slower. The reduction in his minutes is what kept him able to play past 2010 effectively. But his rim protection is and dare I say, was actually better post-2007. Unfortunately the game became more perimeter oriented.

I often think about this. Duncan did that much work in the post with very little spacing. Playing today, run a pick to get a switch, no double team's because he's surrounded by 3 point shooters, Duncan would feast. I know I'm basically describing the 14 Spurs, but imagine the Spurs in 14, but Duncan is 28 instead of 38.

Not enough is said about how his bad knees changed his game yet he was still able to maximize his abilities on HOF levels. Once his knees went, he no longer used his low post spin move and he never went out on the perimeter and used his bank shot which EVERYONE knows was money, every single time. Add the fact that his knees lowered his already abysmal hopping ability yet he still was able to be effective down low late in his career. The man was amazing.
@zhugelianges
@zhugelianges 2 жыл бұрын
Yes, if that was not the bad knees of Timmy since 2004, he would dominate the game on both end of floors, just like what he did in 2003. Yet, unfortunately the bad knees made Timmy to score less efficiently than before (still at HOF level though) I was always thinking if that was not the bad knees, how great would Timmy be in all time ranking.

Barkley also got the better of Duncan in their matchups when Charles was 36 years old, all washed up, a prime Barkley would destroy him, they would not even put Duncan on Barkley if Barkley were in his prime, Chuck's skill set was too high.

@@powerboatguy2308 I understand that I respect Barkley and his game. But ultimately when you talk about the best player at there respectable position. It goes beyond stats. Tim Duncan has 5 championships, 3 Finals MVP’s, 2 Regular season MVP’s, 10x all nba, 8x all defense, rookie of the year, all star mvp. Statistically barkley only averaged one more rebound per game than Duncan in there careers. Only three points per game more and .9 assists more than Duncan. Not very much difference. Barkley never won a championship. Duncan went to the finals six times and won five. Never missed the playoffs in his career. And because of him the spurs have the best win percentage out of all the major sports in history. Sorry buddy all accolades point to Duncan as the best power forward ever🙏🏼

@@JoseMorales-hr3kw I never bring up rings when talking about the GOAT (everyone has their opinion), because no player on the planet gets a ring without the right team, the right coaching and without staying healthy. Wilt was the most dominate player ever, but he did not win titles except twice. I judge players simply by who would be the most dominant at the position. Barkley would be the most difficult player in a match up for any PF. Kevin Garnet said Barkley was the best player he ever faced (when Chuck was broken down at that point) and he faced Malone and Duncan. I judge at match up, Charles got the best of any player he was ever matched up against (Garnet, Duncan, Malone, Kemp etc.) Malone got the better of him once Chuck hit 33. Now if you are going to judge by titles and later career productivity, I would say Duncan, but I'm talking about prime match ups, no way they would put Tim Duncan on the 1987 to 1993 version of Chuck, Barkley as more than just a PF, he could do almost anything on the court.
