oh wow growing more jackfruit. I said to that in the comments of one of your other vids. now your doing it that is pretty epic. lol I must of got lucky with calling that. you can mess with making jackfruit syrup or sugar from them once they grow. both sugar and syrup can last a long time. you can mess with making rice milk also. a nice cup of milk always just feels nice. plus good to add to other foods. maybe try to make your own yeast. you have rice flour. just add water to the flour in a sealed jar and let sit for a while. you can tell if its good by smell and how it looks. if its iffy just toss it and try again. yeast will have a nice doughy smell. will also foam up. you can also make a clay tile/plate. use your fingers to make lines in the plate. to drain the oil or fat of whatever you cook. make an oil collector for when cooking. fish oil/other fat can be used for a ton of stuff. like lamps to light up your nights out there. making oil lamps will make for a good ep. you just messing with some different designs you might like or work best with the oil or fat. . side note if the oil or fat smells to much add water and boil the water out. do this a few times. it will kill off that smell and keep you from burning it. rendering fat into tallow can make for a good candle also. you can also boil ash into lye and strain it out. careful the liquid will burn your flesh. add oil or fat to make your own soup. liquid with oil. solid with fat. take your pick lol. might take some tries to get it right but you will figure it out. if you already made any of these then good on you. keep up the good work. I enjoy watching you do all kinds of stuff.

I love the fall leaves in Indiana. The Sumacs are turning now and Maple trees are soon to follow. I live on 232 acres of hardwood forest with a lake that is kept natural. No gas motors allowed and the lake sides were created by a glacier so they are very high all around. We can't see buildings except the piers either. It is like going back in time, just like it feels when viewing this homestead.

Love your videos. You're definitely my favorite KZbin Channel. Look forward to every single episode. By the way...the baskets and scoops, and dustpans that you make...just for your information, we call this weaving in English...not knitting. Knitting is done with cotton or synthetic yarn. One might make a sweater or a shirt by knitting - but a basket, or a chair, or a dustpan made out of bamboo is woven. Same principle really, but just a different word and different material. Keep up the great content! LOVE IT!

@P. Skills: Mix organic materials in with the dirt/soil (leaves, grass, food scraps - preferably composted (allowed to decompose in a pile)). This puts different types of nutrients into the soil and creates a healthier potting soil. That is part of what went wrong with the one rice raft. Insufficient organic matter, and not properly composted material. Freshly rotting organic matter will actually pull Nitrogen (N) (a much-needed nutrient - NPK), out, or lock it up in the soil. Making it unavailable to the plants. Once the organic matter properly composts, the nutrients are available to the plants. The wood ash provides the Potassium (K) and the Phosphorous (P) - Good for root and flower development.

The wood roof is charming and nice but ceramic tiles are one of the best options in the world, with natural insulation and it lasts far longer, sometimes a lifetime, also it is less hardworking than chopping those woods, although the time consuming, and you already have an oven. If you permit me a suggestion I would say to use the boards for some internal walls project or for the hen house, and make the roof with ceramics.

For what it's worth, making baskets and other things, Its more colloquial to use the term "weave" Knitting is more for fabrics, and often specifically with a pair of chopstick sized "needles" that you knit with. not a huge deal, just a one of those small things that can be wierd about English.

You could make a rat trap out of a tall bucket with smooth sides and bait at the bottom, with a ramp leading to the mouth of the bucket. It would be a lot easier to build. Rats will try to climb in to get the bait but fall into the bottom. Then you have a bucket of rats to use as fish food.
