I've been to a lot of concerts in my life, enjoyed Prince but wasn't a diehard fan or anything. Then I went to a Prince concert at the Meadowlands in NJ. People were decked out to the max, the venue was selling Champagne, and unlike any concert I have ever been to where there is a stage up front, Prince's stage was right in the middle of the venue. The first treat that was not on the docket, Morris Day opened the show, how awesome was that. And then it was time for Prince, it was the most incredible show I have ever seen in my life, that guy left everything he had on that concert floor that night. I was truly in awe of the spectacle happening before my eyes. There just aren't enough words, the man was truly from somewhere else.

Love reading these recounts. Had a very similar experience, Prince's recorded stuff never hit me but the live stuff was mind bending. Then saw him 4 days before my 21st, Public enemy were playing down the road and were beginning/ending their set within Prince's entire run time - so Flava Flav come out at the start and rapped 911 is a joke, then at the end of the show Chuck D joined during a jam. 3 and half hour show. Played everything. (Melbourne 2012)
