Prince Harry is a ‘victim’ of a ‘therapeutic era’

Spiked Online Editor Tom Slater says Prince Harry is a “victim” of a “therapeutic era” where he feels he needs to constantly “rake over the past”.
“I don’t think that’s very good for him and it’s certainly not a very good look for the Royal Family which you’re constantly seeing these sorts of stories all over the coals,” he told Sky News host Andrew Bolt.
“When the whole point of this was they were meant to move on and sort of carve out a private life.
“It’s a funny kind of private life when you’re constantly talking about your own experiences in the media and in your own ghost-written biographies.”

My poor heart bleeds for him. He's lived a life as one of the most privileged people in the entire world, is a multi millionaire, many times over, has hardly had to work a day in his life. Has managed to pretty much skive his way through everything, due to his privileged status. Then he wants us to believe he struggles and suffers as much as ordinary people, many of whom work two jobs, and still struggle to pay the rent, and put food on the table. Never have I observed such a vile, totally self centred, spoilt brat, in all my life.

Harry, I am sure has participated in Betterup Life Coaching AND UT IS NOT THERAPY. To prepare to become a Life Coach it takes Six Months at most. I am a Licensed Mental Health Therapist. My professional development took 13 years. That is 4 years undergraduate, 3 years Master's Degree ( requires a GPA of 3.5 or higher) a State exam that requires a score of 80 to pass. Then 2000 paid work hrs AND supervision by a Licensed Senior supervisor for six years before I can fully be considered a Professional to open my own office to practice. Keep in mind that this professional preparation is required so Insurance can be assured that the Therapist will do no harm to the client. So if anyone wants to ensure they are getting good care it is absolutely essential to choose wisely.

Harry, as the 2nd son, had more freedom to choose his path than William ever did. William's destiny was to be King but it didn't stop him gaining his degree, fulfilling a worthwhile career in Search & Rescue and forming various charities before taking up his Royal responsibilities full time. After the Army Harry could have really made something of himself in whichever field he chose. His own father founded the Prince's Trust whilst in his 20s and I'm sure would have used his own expertise to help Harry go forward with something really worthwhile of his own choosing. Instead we have a jobless middle-aged man who has nothing more to think about than his own 'misery' whist continually dwelling on the past with same rhetoric and even putting his version down in book form. His (& his wife's) lack of dignity & the familial alienation is a horrible example to set his children. What are they going to think when they get older and see what has been going on since their parents married. It could really hurt them but I doubt H&M have thought that far ahead because they are still living in the past.

The phrase heir and spare originated in times of higher infant mortality when childbirth was a life threatening event for mothers. Mothers of aristocrats needed to produce an heir. Therapeutic era exactly. I had some serious abuse issues to deal with when I was in my late teens and early twenties. What were the "experts" advice? My family doctor offered tranquilizers and a counselor asked "How can you talk about such horrible things without showing emotion?" To the former I thought "If I start taking tranquilizers I will never get off them". To the latter I thought "If I start crying about it I will never stop." I do not think professionals want you to get past it, they want you to wallow in it.
