Old games were like good books. The game designers didn't have the graphics or processing to capture real life stories. They had to use metaphors and symbolism. Jaffar summoning a huge hour glass right in front of you... That captures a lot of desperation don't you think?

34 now and I still play this song when I am out running. I can picture myself as the Prince, training, and jumping over objects. It will always be in my memory!!!

This game came with the computer my dad bought in 1992. I was 7 years old. It was so exciting to play back then. Each time you completed a level you had to drink the correct potion by finding the right letter in your manual or something. Great times!

This was one of my favorite games ever, I used to eat some really tasty muffins while playing it and it resembles a lot like the soldier's turbans so now I have a very weird memory of it.

It's awesome how lifelike their movements seem. I think I remember reading something about them using rotoscoping or mocap then digitizing it to get the look of the characters' movements right. Like when the princess turns around or when Jaf'far summons the hourglass/turns around. This is one of the first PC games I played as a kid.

+Kaefer1973 Well I may be biased, because it was my first video game, but I still find those graphics in some sense amazing. Considering what the technologies the developer had to work with, those animations seem incredibly fluid and natural. Also I appreciate the aestheticism here. Same actually goes for the game mechanics: simple but incredibly effective.
