From the novel: Upon hearing her gentle yet frigid voice, Renner bowed her head even lower than before. “…Yes, Albedo-sama. To repay your generosity, your servant I will maintain, no, I will strive to serve you better than I have.” Her superior left behind a soft laugh as she stood up and left. Renner kept her head down until she heard the sound of the door being closed. She breathed a huge sigh of relief. Mixed in her breath were lingering sensations of fear. She had overcome the final hurdle. The other party was a ruthless demon after all, it would not have been strange for her to have said that all of this was to raise her hopes up only to dash it at the last moment. Yet nothing of that sort happened. The weight on her shoulders was finally lifted, but she could not allow herself to believe for a single moment that her position was absolutely safe and secure. For her to have gained their trust - was impossible. The best-case scenario was that they believed her to be valuable as a pawn, one worthy of their favour. That was why Renner had to contribute as much as she could. If she could not prove herself worthy of their grace, things would go south fast. This was the home of those monsters after all, they knew full well that she was absolutely powerless here no matter how hard she tried. Yet, not even that was enough for them. For that reason, Renner had to expose her weaknesses to them, the more the better. She had essentially handed over the other end of the leash to them to tell them that she was a loyal pet and that they were her masters. She had to make the superior-inferior relationship between them as clear-cut as possible. If she had not done so, they would probably not even bother to feign trust in her. That was why they had put on such a show in the throne room. Climb was Renner’s biggest weakness - to show how important he was to her, she had spoken of him in the first conversation she had with Albedo - only when this truth was presented in front of these monsters, would she have truly put on the collar. Climb’s value as their hostage had to be realized, but she had a separate reason for it too. However, it appeared as though she had been seen through, but since things had turned out better than she had expected, it wasn’t much of an issue. There was something else that not even Renner could foresee. She did not imagine that the Sorcerer King would act out that character himself. {What a terrifying Supreme Being.} Every time Renner thought about the being named Ainz Ooal Gown, she could not help but shudder all over. It would have been more than enough for the Prime Minister Albedo to have acted that scene out, but the Sorcerer King would deign to essentially act the role of jester himself. This must have meant that he held quite a high opinion of her. “That is to say, the sovereign of a nation had gone out of his way to cooperate with your boring play. Surely you understand what that means?” was probably what Albedo was implying through her statements. Albedo must have been against that decision. If someone she admired had to stoop to act upon a stage, it would displease her too. Which meant that her goodwill for Renner, the person responsible for him being on that stage, had probably dried up. {If His Majesty the Sorcerer King had intentionally gone against Albedo-sama to act out that scene, that would make things even worse for me. If they were to believe even for a split second that I was no longer of use to them, I would surely be disposed of…} She had planned to only demonstrate a portion of her abilities and hide her true capabilities for now, but now that the Sorcerer King had personally come to cooperate with her, she had been forced into a corner. {…His Majesty the Sorcerer King had probably already foreseen all of this. It appears that an exceptional superior would not necessarily be good news for their subordinates.} Despite all of that, Renner still smiled. Her dream of the past was minuscule. It only grew to how wondrous it was now because she had met them. How lucky was she that she could realise such a dream through the simple betrayal and sacrifice of the Kingdom? She wanted to dance. She wanted to sing. The joy in her heart was overflowing. She was truly, truly overjoyed. Her brain felt like it could break from all of this happiness. Demons were immortal. Being locked up in here meant that she had just found shelter in the safest place in the world. If that was the case - Renner looked towards the door behind her. No, towards the young man sleeping on the bed inside. “Climb. Stay here with me forever~ Let us exchange our first times today.” Renner almost melted as she spoke. “Or should I treasure it more - and stop myself short of that today? This is the first time I have been met with such a dilemma - aaaah, such bliss.”

Yeah, Renner seems to have lost grace with Albedo, but fortunatly for Renner she is now a fully aligned woth Nazarick and is one of Ainz subordinates. So even if Albedo is somewhat pissed off by Renners actions, Albedo knows that she cant mindlessly kill/punnish anyone under Ainz protection.

She wanted to kill her own sister Nigredo and Pestonia because they saved infants after the Demon Invasion in the Re-Estize capital in season 2, even though they are absolutely loyal to Ainz too they still saved what should have been killed but Albedo didn't care that they should have been given a punishment she thought they needed to die for betrayal. Sooooo....... Renner needs to be smarter at what she does as if she even so much as hints at showing even the slightest insubordination to Albedo she will die or be tortured in the most horrendous ways possible

The sad part is that Rener dose not realize this and thinks she has scrued up. She will carry out her duties with fear from now on wile Ainz will thick he made a good job making a new friend.

I think it's a bit of both honestly, but more so Renner making it a bigger deal than it is. Albedo to me had more of an irritation towards her, because Ains had to be involved, but not so much as to reset the relationship. From Renner's side, i believe she just interprets it the way she does and that leads her to show all her talents so she avoids any punishment or scolding, more of a realization that shit is REAL now and she has to show up or something. I just recently read it and this was the impression I got from that bit.

I don't think they were a "friendship" but or whatever you call it in the first place and given albedos insight and intelligence I doubt she didn't realize renners intellect. In my opinion albedo is just genuinely intrigued by her personality and future uses so she kinda puts up her political facade

I think it bothers Albedo, but I don't think Albedo is as upset as Renner believes. They have a lot in common, and with Renner being constantly stalked by a Shadow Demon, I doubt betrayal is on the cards.

One thing I find funny is that a lot of people in the community forget that when Ainz heard the plan he wanted to take the role of the villain but Renner had no plans whatsoever to have Ainz take that kind of active role. It all amounted to Ainz showing off his infinite IQ wisdom to everyone in the room, who have more intelligence than his two brain cells put together mind you, and throwing a holy hand grenade into their plans. Edit: Ains is and will always be the immovable object in the scenario.

I think Albedo start to realized that Renner wasnt truly "cooperated" with Nazarick. everything went perfectly according to her plan. she play both side and played both side, both the Kingdom and Nazarick. all for her own gain. if the original plan was for Nazarick to gain control of the Kingdom though political and eventually a civil war, and eventually have Renner work as the puppet ruler of the Kingdom, now, she dont even have to do that, since Nazarick personally end the Kingdom, push everything in motion and finished everything way sooner than expected. in Albedo mind, Renner planed all of this, and Albedo is not someone that enjoyed being out maneuvered, specially not by a human.

I still feel this presses the idea that Renner has more devotion to Abledo than Ainz; which may bite her in the butt later, where this will get called back to likely IF there IS a civil war among the Guardians, where say another Supreme one show's up and DOESN'T show any focus like Momon and instantly gives him a hard time... OR worst and instantly goes harem with their creations, thus showing to Ainz that the feelings are lost. Which I'm actually more so hoping for the idea of them showing up, Ainz briefing them on what's going on and they agree to show true family values in the guild, leading to them convincing Ainz to let them go, where Albedo Follows ainz and they have a child together for a possible sequel, eventually leading to the idea of Renner and Climb are stand ins for Momon and Albedo (or Ainz and Albedo) with Enri understudies Demiurge, the Lizardmen for Cocytus, and so many other creations developing their feelings for their own underlings, hence forth teaching them the same feeling Ainz has. Where I feel that'll be the final sacrifice, to walk away and let Nazaarick run itself. Where this happy like ending would be nicely tied up.... BUT with the series so far, I feel like it will end with EITHER an agreement that Ainz was defeated and Momon took over Nazaarick OR the players left in the world, decide to go to seclusion to avoid the catastrophe of the world. Eventually ending with a more dark ending, say the last scene being the Guardians ignoring Ainz's request of treating others equally or granting them the chance, instead just dominating and (like in Watchmen) all the secrets come out.

I don't know, maybe when the top person in the organisation checks on you or interviews you, you really need to show that you are the perfect person for the job? If it's just the HR department like Albedo and Demiurge, Renner might can take it easy since she already had a good rapport with them. However when Ainz, the CEO, shows up to check on her after hearing all the good things about her, Renner really had to push herself to promote herself and this is where she revealed how much she was hiding from the HR department. Of course, while she managed to impress Ainz, she already slighted Albedo for 'showing' that Albedo wasn't doing her homework well enough by missing a few spot.

my understanding of that whole thing might be different to other people but here how i think of what happen. The original role of Jester was Albedo but Ainz take over result in a few thing: - By him personally involve with the whole thing, Renner "understand" it as she got noticed by Ainz, mean from now on all of her action will be within Ainz radar of attention which create the pressure like "if she not doing good enough, he can get rid of her". - it also show that he value her talent/intelligent enough to personally play jester role but to Albedo, Demi or even herself, her achievement and what she show should not be enough to gather the attention of Ainz so only possibility is that he saw through her and that she is holding back then it create another layer of pressure "i know what you are capable of" and also notify it to both Demi and Albedo - Ainz taking jester role also piss off Albedo, Renner perfectly understand how crazy Albedo love for Ainz is so while i don't think it reset their relationship like how most people talk about but i do believe it got dmg by it. It create a reason or grudge for Albedo to get rid of Renner immediately if a "chance" ever come up, which mean Albedo will also keep an eye on her => with both Ainz and Albedo have their eyes on her and Albedo holding a grudge against her, she have no way other than doing everything she will be given with all her ability or even above it and not slack off

i think we all know that albedo is a yandere just like renner so they fit eachother, if they stay away from their respectives loves i dont see much of a conflict there, more now that renner got what she wanted, she has no reason to do things that can trigger albedos switch, smart people tend to overthink things so im more in that side from what was shown in renners pov, i have a doubt, maybe i miss it but it is said what climbs new race is?

I don't think it has to do with jealousy. if that was the case albedo would try to get rid of shaltear and aura as they do present challenges to her. this has to do more with albedo knowing renner is as smart as her and demiurge, but also realizing she sold out her entire family, legacy for nazarick. albedo ain't no fool. she knows if renner could do that to her kin she wouldn't have any issues betraying nazarik so albedo tell renner that although she proved herself to be useful you are starting your servitude to nazarick with a debt as in saying good job, but i got my eye on you.

from what i understood, some people believe Albedo likes her less because of: 1. Ainz participated in a "boring play to fool Climb". When Renner asked for this she never thought the real Ainz would participate, but rather it would be Albedo or a doppelganger. Apparently playing such a role is beneath the dignity of a ruler or something? Albedo blames Renner for this (or at least that's what Renner thinks). 2. Renner wasn't revealing her full capabilies / not doing her best, planning on taking it easy. Albedo noticed this. Meanwhile, everyone in Nazarick always does their utmost at all times to better serve the supreme beings.
