Hey remember when Princess actually DID something to become a powerpuff girl in the original, like destroy them, fighting them, hell even getting their abilities TWICE in the OG series. Well that plot went down on its face, I know that Blossom and princess were always rivals in the OG series, but in this reboot it just takes that rivalry into a cliche…I guess the reboot writers couldn’t copy her OG character traits like they did with the episodes in this reboot series cause apparently thats just too much work for them to even copy OG character traits 🤦‍♀️

Hmm, now that you mention that one, I suppose there are implications. I mean we don't technically see the girls rebuild the city seeing as it just cuts past everything, so for all we know the girls could've repaired the city, or maybe Elmer did it himself? We only get to see them repair the school, so it's a bit of a gray area, and I doubt there's a confirmed answer on that, but I can definitely see it being interpreted that way. Although, even if that is true I highly doubt the reboot made this acknowledgement with Paste Makes Waste being its justification lol. But thank you for bringing that episode up, I hadn't considered that one's ending!

And the least they could do was add fighting in the last season OR have an explanation to WHY he acts like that Make a episode where they find him on the floor with mojo in the room holding a memory eraser. He doesn't remember who he is and they try to help but their selfishness gets the best of them and they fail miserably. They then decide to blast him with the ray to see if it will give him his memory back and it works! And he's back to how he was in the original! Mojo wonders what happens while he's in jail and out of the jail cell outside we see HIM appear because he would rather defeat them and get rid of what and who they love than let mojo do it.

I watched The Powerpuff Girls movie last night after watching this review and got absolute whiplash on how different the Professor’s personalities are between them. It’s insane.

I agree that, for the most part, in the OG cartoon and 2002 prequel movie, Professor Utonium was a really great dad. He was generally very caring, kind, intelligent, and selfless, though he could be overprotective and embarrassingly cheesy, doting, and overly sentimental with the girls at times. He really was a great dad, on the whole, which is sadly rare in cartoon sitcoms. He had some OOC and idiot ball instances in the OG cartoon, though, too, such as in “Daylight Savings,” “Keen on Keane,” and I thought he was a little bit too harsh on Buttercup at the end of “Moral Decay.” Yeah, she was being an exceedingly greedy brat in “Moral Decay,” and she deserved to lose that money she gained through dirty means, but where was the compassion? Yeah, he should have been disappointed in Buttercup. I wouldn’t have even been against Buttercup getting her teeth knocked out at the end of “Moral Decay” in a cruel twist of fate, but why did they have to have Blossom and Bubbles set her up in a trap for it to happen? How was it fair that they weren’t punished for being that needlessly cruel? How was it in character for them to do that? The OG Professor also wasn’t the best parent he could have been in “Mommy Fearest,” “Coup d’etat,” but I was actually okay with those episodes because those shortcomings as a parent and an adult actually came from a relatively relatable place, he actually realized he was wrong, and sided with the girls at the end. He wasn’t a perfect parent in the OG cartoon, but for the most part, he was a really kind, caring, wise, and selfless one, who tried his best. It’s like they took all of the *occasional* flaws and idiot ball *moments* he displayed as a parent in the OG cartoon at times, and made that his entire character by removing all the kindness, intelligence, self-awareness, and selflessness he often displayed in the OG cartoon. It’s flanderdization. Also, the OG Professor would *never ever* deliberately and/or recklessly put the girls in dangerous situations where they couldn’t defend themselves. He agreed to kick Buttercup out of the house when she was refusing to take a bath for days to weeks to the point of trailing dirt, and trailing a horrible stench behind her for miles, but I was under the impression that he only did that because there weren’t really any other ways to convince Buttercup to take a bath. She had superpowers, he didn’t, so he couldn’t physically pick her up, kicking and screaming, and force her into the tub. If he had given her enough money and shelter to go do her own thing, then he’d be enabling her. The only thing that really could be done to get Buttercup to take a bath was to put her in a situation where she had no choice, but swallow her hatred of taking one, and to just do it to go back home, which she did on the same night she got kicked out when not even a monster would fight with her because she smelled too bad. However, the OG Professor had more of a tendency to be overprotective when he saw the girls fighting crime than anything else. He made them a giant robot to fight a giant fish balloon monster when he saw them getting slapped around by one in a battle for a bit. When he fought crime with them in “PowerProf,” he forced them to wear helmets, elbow-pads, and knee-pads in a fight against Mojo Jojo, even though the girls had successfully beaten up both him and far more dangerous criminals and monsters without any sort of protective headgear or body gear.

I can't tell if they want the viewers to enjoy the songs or they're meant to all be intentionally bad for comedy. Either way, they sounded obnoxious. I'm also not sure why they threw in that bit at the end where a random girl says she wants to be like Princess. Are we meant to see it as sweet that someone looks up to her or find it funny that a kid wants to be a supervillain instead of a superhero? Though, I do think the idea of someone looking up to one of the show's supervillains and the villain taking them in as a protege could be interesting an interesting plot, either as a one-off or story arc (but knowing this show, it'd end up being a plot where the girls try to force the kid to like them and then at the end, it turns out the kid didn't really like the villain either or they betray the villain because status quo is god).

I thought of a Powerpuff Girls Idea. The class tries to throw Ms. Keane a suprise party at the classroom. The whole class and the Powerpuff Girls do it. Blossom: Ms. Keane is the best teacher ever isn't she. She drops her planner and Blossom picks it up. Her birthday is the next day and it is circled. Its Blossoms idea to throw the suprise party and the whole class agress to it. Class starts at 8 am so they all wake up at 7 am and get there early and set up. The party isn't ready yet so the Powerpuff Girls have to stall her and create diversions so that she can be there when the party is ready. She keeps trying her best to get to school on time and they have to slow her down by poping her car tires and stuff like that. There is one joke where they glue her house door shut. Then she jumps out the window and keeps going because she has never been late in her entire life. All the kids are calling each other on walkie talkies instead of using cel phones. Blossom: Why are we using Walkie talkies instead of cel phones. Buttercup: Its way cooler that way. They also all talk in code names. The hot line phone rings and the girls have to beat up a giant monster and then there is a title card that says *much much later* Bubbles: This is taking way too long we want to throw our teacher Ms. Keane a suprise Party. Monster: Really Ms. Keane she used to be my teacher. I'll destory Townsville tomorrow. They have to distract her and fight crime when monsters and villians show up. There is this one part where Bubbles dresses up like a cop and tries to pull her over. She also talks in a super deep new york accent. Ms. Keane: Bubbles is that you Bubbles: What gave it away *Ms. Keane:* The card board box in a wagon that says police car *Bubbles*: Darn it Buttercup also dressed like a cop *Buttercup:* I thought the lack of a nose and the floating would have tipped her off. The scene where bubbles destroys jareds phone reminds me of the original ppg or DL(at least the gennedy seasons) where they deliberately exaggerate the noise of something being destructed in such a painful sounding way, especially with the metal scraping noises. As for her 'indestructible' robot, Melvin Sneedly could build something that actually stands a fight and has! Shout out to raise a roof a tron 2000 for being a good music robot.

Small nitpick, but around 13:25 when you were presenting a example of the girls insulting Morbucks, this clip didn't came off as insulting her since what their saying is actually is what happening in that episode and they are only telling on her that she is being a cheater. Unless I'm missing something, I don't really see them insulting her in this clip.

It's kinda sad. Princess wanting to be a Powerpuff girl, or at least a super hero at all was her main goal in the original series. I'd give them credit for trying to bring that back but as you said they didn't really show it until now, so it doesn't feel as fitting for her in this series

Here's the thing that is just so bad about how the reboot handles Princess, ASIDE from putting her into way too many episodes. If they wanted to create the idea of her character LEARNING and GROWING from each encounter, it doesn't really matter when each episode is put back to square one. At the end of this episode, Princess has a friend who appreciates her BECAUSE she's a villain which SHOULD have lead into something like her dropping her obsession of being a 'hero', or what she thinks it means to one as well as finding some solace that one person likes her for who she is. But again, this ending not only contradicts whatever lesson was supposed to be in this episode but every other 'redeemed' Princess ending we've gotten. If this is how the episode ends, Poorbucks should NOT exist because BLOSSOM already has a hand out for her even though she (Princess) doesn't want to admit it. Blossom would be *THAT* person that stabalizes Princess to have some humanity because she's exactly what she needs; a friend. And on top of that, Princess' gang already seems to have her support anyway. The big thing about Princess from the original is that she WAS alone. She didn't have a 'gang' because that removes the idea that she's an isolated kid with a father who GIVES her everything but never gives her ATTENTION. Her gang however not only fights for her because they are devoted to her but in the episode where she falls for Barry, they give her advise on what to do so they DO care for her. You see how this more or less just ruins whatever message they're trying to send with Princess and because of that you can't sympathize with her because they keep flip-flopping on WHY we should be sorry for her. She's NOT alone, she's NOT isolated, she's not even 'weak' considering her tenacity to keep trying to beat the Powerpuff Girls. She is without a doubt a boring villain but that's only because she fights boring heroes. The reboot cru had NO idea just the TINY details of Princess that made her ENTERTAINING and even if you wanted to broaden her in terms of showing that she can be a decent person and that's she's a lot smarter than she is, every turn they've made to do that has ended a massive flop. Hell, the Japanese version where she has a SISTER (Duchess) makes more sense and has better characterization but I put that on the series knowing that it also had to be entertaining and like any other action anime, which is succeeded at. THIS doesn't work at anything. It's not a PPG show, it's not even an action show and the slice of life and comedy episodes absolutely SUCK. This isn't JUST an example of how NOT to do a reboot. This isn't how you do ANY show, PERIOD.
