In this video, students from SPA 211 (Spring 2017) discuss the current status of Spanish in the United States and they comment on historical and social aspects that have shaped Spanish in this country. The boy is speaking Spanish with English accent. He is not a Spanish native speaker. In my opinion, the Spanish spoken in the Southwest (formerly Spanish territory) from 1820 up to date is the "aboriginal Spanish" in the US that you should study.

When they both say "viven" they use the English V. In Mexico viven is pronounced "biben." It's different.

Los dos son pochos. El español estandar es el español de la ciudad de mexico con las leyes de gramaticales de Madrid.

El español de la Ciudad de México no es estándar, y no todos los latinos en los Estados Unidos son de ascendencia mexicana. Y el video se refería al español hablado en los Estados Unidos y si hay un tipo español estándar hablado en los Estados Unidos. No creo que haya, porque el español hablado en los Estados Unidos varía mucho.
