A neighbor gave me a roll of welded fencing. I just cut big pieces that are U shaped, and cut every other spine so they can be stuck into the ground, either vertically or horizontally. I use them early on their sides to put frost covers over, and later I turn them upright to support plants. Works well for me.

Last night we had freezing temperatures for 12 hours, here in Talladega Alabama. I woke up to 23F. All my cool weather crops were covered, and survived, even my potatoes. It was too cold for my pepper, tomato, basil, sweet marjoram, and marigolds in the greenhouse without heating. I spent all day sowing seeds for new seedlings to replace the plants I lost. Tomorrow morning, I will finish cleaning up the dead plants, reclaim the soil, and starter cells. I'll probably direct sow seeds for the herbs and marigolds I lost too. I also did seed starters for squash and cucumbers today. All that is left to plant are Thumbelina Zinnias, Shasta Daisies, pole beans, and fillers.

I'm thankful the loss was limited to tomatoes, peppers, basil, sweet marjoram, and marigolds. Everything else is okay, even my oregano. As bad as things are, I'm not going to the big box store for replacements. I have a long growing season, and have time to restart from seed. But others with a shorter season may have to.

New sub, loving all the videos. One thing I'd like to mention is, 5-5-5 is not a low N formula, relatively speaking. The ratio is 1-1-1 or 20-20-20, 10-10-10 etc.. All the same, just at different concentration and that effects how much of the product you will you per gallon to achieve similar Total Dissolved Solids. 5-5-5 or 20-20-20 is a general/all around fertilizer, which works well in most cases including yours. A 10-20-20 would have less nitrogen in a solution with the same TDS/EC/PPM as a 5-5-5 fertilizer.

The higher the numbers mean you are buying less water/filler. Jacks hydroponics or masterblend are commercial grade fertilizers and that's why they are more concentrated. That and the fact that the calcium, which likes to precipitate from solution when combined with certain salts, is separate. It just means you use less product to achieve similar tds/ec. Unless you really enjoy/need the convenience, liquid fertilizers waste money.

Do blueberry bushes do ok? Mine started budding but then temps got down to low 20s and I think high teens now. The bushes were too tall for me to cover without damaging.
