This was an excellent breakdown of the grip and something that needs to be a standard among instructors instead of trying to sell 'snake oil' grips. I personally fell for it in the past and ended up putting in more effort while getting fewer results. Instead, I switched to a principle-based approach and gained what I truly wanted: consistency and the ability to perform on demand. Great video, AHT-you're setting the standard for the industry!

Attributing left misses to pulling the trigger with your entire hand makes a lot of sense to me. Hadn't thought of it like that before. Not just an issue with the trigger press but an issue with firing hand pressure. Good stuff

When you're establishing your grip out the rip, what are some major points in your index that you kinda feel for and know when it's LOCKED in? For you personally? Tia
@Broken_Arrow_Defense_Group_LLCАй бұрын
You need to establish what your grip is going to be first before you develop your index. Once you are able to grip the gun in a durable, consistent manner that allows the gun to react predictable. The gun should have a very consistent repeatable return after recoil. Once that is establish I looks for specific touch points and pressure while I am indexing the gun on the draw that give me a subconscious cue that my grip is correct.

What distance to the target should these drills be done? Is that 5 yards?
@Broken_Arrow_Defense_Group_LLCАй бұрын
These are not drills, this is a conversation about principle based approach to shooting. The shooting portion had very little to do with what I was talking about. If your looking for a drill look at our video on the 4 step process to improve your shooting skill video

Glad to see more people pushing to teach principles and not techniques. I’ve been using a very similar technique to teach grip for a couple years. It helps a lot of people understand what they are trying to achieve. Also, good to see you in videos and not that clown Rick.

@user63257Ай бұрын
Pretty obvious you need to take a class if you are struggling to understand what he was sharing. He wasnt teaching you how to shoot, hes sharing what mentality you should be taking on when learning on your own or teaching yourself. You want someone to throw you a bone, pay for it in a private session. Listen to what is being said, not just the things you want to hear.
@tackleberrywpgАй бұрын
@user63257 wow. Throw a little hissy fit. Pure weakness on your part. I clearly said he's knowledgeable and I don't expect free lessons. However there is far more effective ways of communicating as an instructor. It's very clear u have no clue what u are speaking of. You don't have the eyes for it. I was explaining.... effective presentation is a thing.. but carry on ... whining
